Christmas is for the birds… a holiday vignette

I have a little more holiday decor to share!

I realized I completely missed this corner of my living room in my Cottage Christmas post.

I am on to holiday number two with the little black birdhouse I picked up a few months ago.

So far, so good!
It was of course, great for Halloween.
Now, I’m using it for Christmas.
When we recently got a new armoire
(You can see it best here) and I painted a small side table the same creamy white to match and balance out the weight of the room.
After I carried my little black birdhouse all around my house looking for a new home, (shh… that is my super secret decorating trick) it settled on the freshly painted table.
I thought the black & white looked striking so I set about adding some sparkle.

Tip;
( That I am sure everyone knows…lol )
Simply adding ornaments is one of THE easiest ways to take your everyday decor and push it over the edge into the holidays.

I had recently moved lots of my mirrors and artwork around. My subway art had not landed anywhere permanent yet, and I thought it would look pretty good here. So I gave it a shot.

I really love the rich, deep pewter color of mercury glass so I have been slowly picking up a few items here & there if I find them at an affordable price.

Here is where the ornaments come in handy!
I used a big, open mouth vase to hold all the wonderful glitter & sparkle, then set the vase down inside the birdhouse.
A few feathers on top…
and it was nice a girly~glam.

Thanks so much for stopping by to look.
I love sharing!!
