I am such a dork!

So, am I all alone in my dorkdom?
I sure hope not!
I was reading one of my favorite blogs
this morning and I got so excited when
I spied a piece of furniture in one of the photos!
This one to be exact…

Why all the excitement?
Because I have the SAME hutch.
I don’t know why that tickled me so…
It Just Did.
And I got a big, dorky smile on my face.
I guess I’m easy.
I’d show you a photo of mine…
Really, I would.
But, it lives in my 15 year olds sons room now.
Yeah.
Can you imagine?
It’s so wonderfully styled.
LOL
Yeah. Right.
Someday…
Not rushing!!
I hope to reclaim it and decorate it once again.
So, what silly thing makes you smile?
If you see something you have, or someplace you have been, in a magazine, on TV or in a blog…
Do you get excited like me?
Please tell me I am not alone.

  4. Cute!

  5. The title of this post made me smile! (and giggle a little too)

As for your teens room, my 18 yo has a gorgeous antique dresser in his room that there is no way I could ever share a photo of. His room is styled in OMG-howdidthetornadogetinhere!

  6. No you’re not alone…I too am a dork of sorts, lol! My heart races when I see someone else having the same piece as me or when I see the cover of a new Romantic Country Magazine that has pink in the photo.

  7. Yeah, I would react the same way that you did. I guess that I’m a dork too!

  8. Welcome to the dork club, glad to have you along! A lot of little things make me smile:)

  9. I love it when I see something I have in another blogger’s post. DORK! I saw my sink at Kelly’s kitchen at Eclectically Vintage. And! It is not a hugely made American sink, so of course I shared my dork happiness with my husband, who was in turn happy too. I married the right man.

  10. of course I get excited! I love to see that other people like the same things I like, it’s the other side of the inspiration coin for me. So maybe it’s an inspiration/validation coin:)

    Now following you GFC/Linky.

  11. Welcome to the club, Shannon! : ) I do and sometimes I can’t believe that something so minor or small can make me happy. Although, I think it’s good because just think how happy we could be in the course of a day!

  12. I’m a dork too…just ask my husband. I get way-excited over the most random things. I’m excited by the hutch, and I don’t even have it :)

  13. Joining the ranks of dorkdom here and I see I’m in good company ;) I agree with Jessica, it’s a validation thing.

  14. Your title made me smile like a dork!

  15. Everyone is a dork now and then I would be the same way. Love the cabinet too.

  16. If that’s dorky then I’m totally with you! I picked up a mirror at a yard sale once and then saw it in a magazine and MAY have actually done a happy dance and bragged to my husband about my own brilliance. :)

  17. I’m definitely a dork so you’re not alone! Love that hutch. I would have been excited too if I owned that same piece of furniture. What a treasure!

  18. But it’s a great piece! What makes me smile? An unexpected surprise–sort of like your hutch showing up in a photo. I am following you, from the tribe, which was also unexpected and made me smile!!

  19. ha!! I know exactly what you mean…i saw a picture hung in a kitchen in a Home and Garden magazine that was in our kitchen….somewhow I was proud to have that picture….like the magazine was an endorsement of my choice….too funny.
but, really that is a great hutch!!!!

  20. Yes. Yes. Yes. Just today I was reading Stay At Home-ista’s guest post with her home tour and I spotted (1) art over her mantle that my niece and nephew have over their mantel and (2) I have the exact same idea for artwork that she has in her master bedroom. And I love her home so somehow that validated my style!

We should’ve just called it the Power Dork Tribe …

    :)

  21. I figured everyone got smiley when they see stuff they have or where they have been!! I once saw a buffet/drawer-thing we had rescued from an alley in a Country Living article….I tore it out of the magazine and stuck it on the fridge like it was a famous person!! lol!!! So, yea…you’re not alone and actually are probably less dorky than me!!! lol!!!!

  22. Due to overwhelming response.
I think I should be the president and founder of the dork club ;)
We clearly have enough potential members.

    Love you guys!!

  23. Hahaha, Just add me to the dork club. I get all geeked out when I see pics of things like what I have…it is somehow positive reinforcement that I’m not a loser…just a dork. :)
