Com join me and make your very own Shabby Vintage Tin Can Craft!
This whole
upcyle, recyle, reuse, repurpose thing…
After my first try at repurposing with
I still had lots of tin cans in my stash!
So I gave these three a shabby makeover
using two shades of burlap,
some just twine…
and vintage shoe clips.
and vintage shoe clips.
(They wanted some sparkle!)
Yes, they told me so.
It’s was pretty much a no-brainer to
add a few fresh flowers to these
newly prettied containers.
So I did.
Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best.
The rhinestone encrusted bits are the
vintage shoe clips.

I tell ya… she finds me the best goodies!!
I am a doubly lucky girl.
sent me the prettiest bauble on a bobby pin.
Well, it slips right out of my hair. Boo.
Sort of a good thing though…
Because I love it here!
(thanks girl!)
I doubt you need a tutorial but
I will share one soon just in case!
I’ll walk you through making some of your own step-by-step.
It’s easy, promise.
Start saving your cans, bottle and jars.
You can use about anything!
I’m really trying to take better pictures…
so please humor me with the 87 shots
of a tin can I just subjected you too.
(plus, I think they are pretty!)
They make me smile.
PS-Don’t forget to save some tins cans and glass containers (jelly jars, etc..) so you can repurpose them into pretty shabby containers too.Linking up at: savvy southern style, the 36th avenue, french country cottage,

Now that is just too danged cute! I love it and you are right- simple is best most times. Now, I really need to get OFF MY CAN and get something done. I am off to Milwaukee to pick up SweetCheeks this afternoon. She went home with Auntie but is homesick for her own bed. Have a great day, Shannon- xo Diana
Ever since your first post with the aqua duo, I have been collecting cans and bottles. My kids looked at me with the ‘ ohmygosh, Mommy is turning into a baglady’ hands on cheeks look. I even accepted some coffee cans from my neighbour. It’s an illness!!!
Sigh… I can sooo see bunches and bunches of flowers in them, and candles and sprigs, and……
I tried something similar (but not really?) with a big old applesauce jar, and ended up with this Shannon: http://sally-drinkingfrommysaucer.blogspot.com/2012/06/finishing-job.html =D
Those are so pretty! I love them, Shannon.

I love em Shannon!!! I think I might need to make some of these for my craft room to use as storage containers for pens, paint brushes, etc…. So friggen cute! I love that your items “speak” to you telling you what they want. I often have items speak to me too… so I totally understand!
I hope you’ve recovered from your yard sale! Those can be exhausting!!!
Blessings,
Diana Anyone Can Decorate
So pretty, Shannon! I think I like these white ones the best. Love the bling you added. I’ve been looking for some pins or earrings when I’m at the thrift store, but I’m only seeing beaded necklaces. : )
simple elegance…
love!
Those are some HOT cans you have there Shannon. So pretty. Those would look gorgeous as wedding centerpieces.
These turned out beautiful! Vintage and elegant!
I used something very similar to these at my wedding, and we DIYed them, too! A great project!
You *are* a double lucky girl! Fabulous skills and awesome mother-in-law! I LOVE these, Shannon … so simple, yet make such a wonderful impact! You *know* these are going to pop up all over blogland now, don’t ya?
So very pretty! Yes, sometimes simple is better
Think I need to go rescue some cans from my recycle bin!! Chat soon, Laurel
These are just so pretty. I think there is so many things you can do with them. Love the crown.
Cynthia
Love all 87 shots! You know how to make me want to go empty some cans! They are so pretty with the bling

Just gorgeous! I agree, sometimes the simplest ideas are the best. I am concerned that your cans are talking to you though. Only furniture is supposed to talk…..
My family thinks I’m really into recycling lately.
