As much as I love pretty things like crafting, painting, diy’ing decorating for the holidays
… and all that sparkles.
(i.e. glitter!)
There is much more to me then decor.
Like you, I have layers.
No really.
I do.
I decided it I was time to get a bit more personal and share a little about me. Not too personal though. I hope you never think “TMI” when you visit Fox Hollow Cottage
So, I hope this doesn’t change how you feel
about me too much, but …
I’m a big Zombie flick fan!
Granted, some are better then others.
There are a lot of cheesy Zombie movies out there.
I just love em’ though!
The reason I started with this is that a new movie is premiering on February 1st and I can’t wait to go see it!
Warm Bodies.
The story of “R”.
I think this is going to have a fun spin.
A girl catches R’s eye and all of a sudden, things really start to change for him.
You can watch the trailer for yourself.
You know, if you’re into it.
Another hot date in February is the return of
The Walking Dead.
on AMC.
Not a movie, but zombie.
So it fits the theme
Jim and I have watched this series
(based on a comic) from the very beginning.
Every Sunday night!
It’s zombie date night.
I know, soooo romantic.
Yes, it has gory zombie stuff.
It also has a great story line
and a really strong cast.
Plus, it’s action packed and there is always something happening.
Actually, I’m more then just a Zombie movie fan.
I am a just a huge MOVIE lover.
My taste is so eclectic. That one of my all time favorite movies ever is Pride & Prejudice.
About as far as you can get from zombies.
Unless you have happened to read
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
which, with all I do read, I have not.
My favorite line is when Mr Darcy tells Elizabeth;
“You have bewitched me, body and soul, and
I love, I love, I love you.”
:melt:
I like subtitled movies too.
Speaking of… I still stand firm that there
was no reason to re make
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
Even though I begrudgingly watched the remake with Jim, who fell asleep during the subtitled version. And I like Daniel Craig.
And Rooney Mara didn’t completely suck.
Okay… so it was pretty good.
But I’ll deny I ever said it. lol.
(and that I said suck)
A new release now on DVD is Pitch Perfect
and Jim and watched it the other night.
I actually had no advance knowledge of this movie, only that it was a new release. The gal at the video store held it and I ran over to pick it up.
I was pleasantly surprised in that it wasn’t the best movie ever but I laughed a lot!
(Just watch out for a vomit scene early on! You have been warned. There is another later, but you’ll see it coming.)
Zombies. Cool.
Barf. Not so much!!!
Rebel Wilson supplied all the best lines in my opinion and I pretty much laughed every single time she opened her mouth! It’s a silly movie. Set on a college campus.
But, it was definitely good for a few laughs.
Is there a little something that someone might be surprised to find out about you?
Are you training to be a ninja?
… or something equally as cool?
Do Tell!!
Appearance in full on any site other then Fox Hollow Cottage is theft!

I am not training to become a NINJA I am a NINJA! A furniture NINJA…I can empty out a 400 ton dumpster in Ninja speed if I know there is a piece of furniture on the bottom..LOL
Love your movie tastes..If you loves zombies then I am sure you saw the comedy Sean of the DEAD! Best comedy zombie movie EVER!!!!
Hugs

most people would be surprised to know that I AM a ninja!
Haha i just wrote a post about my not so secret love hate relationship for scary movies! And walking dead is amazing but scares the living daylights out of me!
Hello zombie fan!
When I was a little girl and would stay up late on Saturday nights to watch the spooky shows, zombies scared me more than any of the monsters!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia
I read Warm Bodies last week, and I can’t wait to see the movie this week!
Did you see my Literary Friday post on it?
xo,
RJ
That is funny that you like zombies. I liked The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo movie.
Most people would be surprised to know that I’m a zombie…
No, not THAT kind of zombie…the kind that requires caffeine to function in the morning.
xo
What a fun post, Shannon. You like Zombies, I like Vampires. I watch Vampire Diaries and saw every Twilight Movie. I’m also at every Nicholas Spark book turned movie and can’t wait for Safe Haven to open.
No Zombies for this gal…I feel like one half the time I will say that much.
I LOVE this post! I laughed my butt off at Pitch Perfect! Rebel Wilson is hilarious. And don’t tell my husband but I totally downloaded both of the teams songs on itunes and rock out while cleaning my kitchen!
Too funny! I’ve never seen any zombie or vampire movie ~ guess I’m missing out big time!
Shannon – I LOVE this and just love you for sharing this fun post!! I am not a big Zombie fan but we really did like “The Walking Dead” – unfortunately we lost track after Season 1 and we def need to catch up. We are HUGE “Game of Thrones” and “True Blood” fans (see, Vampires! Like zombies but… sexier! lol). And I am a Ninja too (at least I think I am). Here’s how my fave Ninja converstaion w/ my Teen goes:
Me: I am a Ninja.
Teen: Uh, no you’re not.
Me: Yes I am. Did you see me do that??
Teen: Do what?
Me: That’s what I thought. I told you I am a Ninja.
xoxo, Claire
Cracked me up! Zombie lover – who’da thunk? I’m totally with you on Warm Bodies. It looks so funny. I’ve been told The Walking Dead is worth my time so I’m going to give it a shot this season. And, yes, Pride and Prejudice . . . totally. I don’t know what secrets I have that would shock anybody. I should work on that!
The only movie I’ve seen more times that P&P is Sense and Sensibility. The Emma Thompson version. I love, I love, I love all things Jane. I knew we were kindred spirits.
)
I really *do not* like zombie flicks — all that gore, yuck! HOWEVER, my hubby enjoys them and got me hooked on The Walking Dead by telling me all about the drama. That’s what gets me on the show – the character development and how they are dealing with a near apocalyptic change.
Not so much a zombie fan, but Mr. Wonderful and I DO enjoy The Walking Dead. I was sooo happy with they killed off the other cop. What a bad actor!
Hmmm…what’s surprising about me…I stay in my jammies ’til noon!
LOL, Shannon! I would never have expected that from you! I’m a baby when it comes to films like that and, sadly, prefer chick flicks and all day marathons on Lifetime! LOL
I do love me some Mr. Darcy!
We can’t wait for the Walking Dead to return at our house. We have a Zombie date, as well on Sunday nights and my husband would love to win some contest(if there ever is one) to play a zombie on the Walking Dead. I’m with Kimberly(Serendipity Refined)about being a zombie in the am. Seriously…don’t wake me up before 9 unless the house is on fire…10:30 if I stayed up late(3 am).
I remember watching the original black and white “Night of the Living Dead” movie with my roomie in college. It freaked us out but we loved it!
So I just realized how long it has been since I have seen your posts in my inbox, then I started worrying something was wrong, so at a STOPLIGHT while driving, I brought your blog up to see what the deal was. NOTHING is wrong, for some reason, I just stopped getting them in my inbox! I checked my feedburner subscription and it says I am signed up. Blah! So I signed up with “other” email address. The real me, the one that LOVES zombie shows, and could sit through 24 hours straight of the Walking Dead. I could watch Pride and Prejudice 10 times in a row and never tire of Mr. Darcy. Sigh!!!!! I thought Pitch Perfect was absolutely hilarious, but after watching with my kids, I realized maybe it isn’t what my 11 year olds need to be hearing, so I had to put that one away……And! I am the biggest DA addict.
