Last year, I decided to use some if the greenery we have here on our property as a base for our holiday decor on the counter tops in our sun room. Mr. Fox was sweet enough to cut some Cedar from our big tree for me. Then, he popped them up on the porch right outside the sun room door for easy pruning., which was really handy!
Perfect!
He sure comes in handy sometimes.
I knew as soon as it was done, we would be doing some take on it again because we all really liked it.

The pictures in this post have been lost.
To get this look, I lay down a string of the old fashioned, medium sized C-7 lights in clear.
This gives more glow then a string of mini lights provides.
I would move my Ficus Tree for the holidays
but the thing is really big and
I don’t have a single other pace to put it!
So it gets a few light ~lol~
Then, I layer on pieces of Cedar right on top of the lights. I usually have them dripping towards the front to spill off the counter. There is really no particular way to do it though, so I didn’t take any photos of this step. Plus, my hands were pretty full, and I did get a little sap on them.
This years version ended up being a little bit different and that’s okay!
It means YOU can try it too, with what you have at home.
So… Gather Up Your Greens, A String of Lights, Glass Jars, Ornaments, Candy Canes, Candle Sticks & Whatever Else You Might Want to Throw in the Mix!

The Silver Tinsel Tree is A Dollar Tree Find!
I Just Added a Few Mini Candy Cane Ornaments I Bought Last Year to Spruce it Up a Little Bit. Then, I Set it Up On Top of a Large Black Candle Holder Base for Some Height.
And a special little find… a vintage ornament hanger box.
This is a mini treasure.
It looks just like the kind we had when I was little.
The vintage ornaments were picked up at
Good Will & Salvation Army
for no more then $1.00 for six
and as little as .49 cents for as many as ten!
(There are those Dollar Tree bottle brush trees again…)
