How To Get A Gothic Style Haunted Halloween Mantel
Welcome to Fox Hollow at Halloween
I’m really excited to share our
Haunted Halloween Mantel with you
and pass on some easy ways that you can get this Gothic-Chic, Haunted Mansion style look too.
(you know, if you’re into it…)
I was pretty sure when I painted our fireplace wall aqua in the Spring, that orange was for sure going to be a no-go this year and I’m thinking there might be a few of you that are not feeling the classic “orange” either.
I decided to try for a Gothic,
Haunted Mansion type vibe and this is what
I did to “attempt” to pull it off.
I gathered up my silver candlesticks and everything else (Trays, bowls, mirrors)
I thought might do the trick with a little
“Halloween” tweaking and set to work…
I got this mirror for $5 at an estate sale last Friday.
(I didn’t need it.)
But it was only $5.
Turns out, I did need it.
Lesson here?
You always need it. Just buy it!!
(your husband can thank me later, haha)
You can pick these up all day long for a couple dollars a piece at thrift stores.
Check online for images you like and print them out for next to nothing. It only takes a sheet of photo paper and a little ink.
I found a great haunted mansion image and printed it up to pop in the black frame that usually has a picture of my mom in it. Frame; Ross under $10
I swirled some pearly silver paint and water in an old decanter. (Mine needs a “poison” label tag don’t you think?)
I bought three little pumpkins last week for .79 cents each.
Just because I always buy at least a few (dozen).
All three got a full coat of inky, black paint.
Much better!
Paint! A great way to customize your decor for pennies. I just used some inexpensive craft paint. You could glitter them up or embellish them too.
Add a few Crows (Mine are from the Dollar Tree, last year) and find things for them to “perch” on.
I used a tarnished silver bowl and a tiny single bud vase. Both past thrift store finds.
That’s it… by using lots of things I already had on hand, I was able to get the look and vibe I wanted for under $10. Score!
Happy Halloween!
Hope you got an idea or two to help you create your very own Haunted Mansion
Gothic Style Mantel for Halloween.

What is the black cloth? Cheesecloth? How did you make it. I love it, it helps connect everything.
The whole thing is awesome. I have never decorated much for Holloween because I am not that into witches and ghost, but I totally love this. You inspired me and I want to try my own version. Thanks for the great ideas!

Carol-I got that at a local discount store. It’s all shred-y. It’s pretty cool stuff. I think fairly standard. Try amazon.com and bet you could find some! Good luck!!
