Announcing The DIY Before and After Contest Winner
If you stopped in yesterday you know how many great projects were linked up in this H4H charity contest. I just had to highlight some in a Diy Before and After Party Favorites and Features post, because there were so many really wonderful projects, and I only got to pick one!! I told you guys to make it hard for me to decide and the competition was stiff. I knew it would be difficult to choose a winner, and man was it ever. I don’t think I’m cut out for this!? Everything is so special in it’s own way… really nothing is better then another project, not really. I did the tough job though…
And the winner is… KATHLEEN from
who entered her Headboard to Chalkboard project.
I selected this as the winning entry for more then the fact that she used a Habitat ReStore purchase to DIY (thought that was pretty awesome!), I liked that is was a really versatile piece! I can see this customized in an array of colors to suit any taste and it could so easily fit into an entryway, mudroom, kitchen, office, kids room, homework station… the possibilities are vast. It’s a great organization station! There was also a super tutorial, it’s affordable and I think a pretty newbie DIY’er could easily tackle this project. Plus, headboards are pretty readily available at thrift stores and tag sales, making it a great all-around project.
Congratulations to Kathleen. She will be able to select her choice of: a $50 gift card to Home Depot, Lowes, or Amazon…
and $100 will be donated to Habitat for Humanity in her honor.
Thanks to all who entered and made this a great giving-back success!!!! I appreciate you joining in. I will continue to share and pin many of the party entrants. I hope everyone gets a chance to link up again this week for another chance to win and support H4H with Jen over at Tatertots and Jello.
In Fox Hollow news, we are continuing to bang away at getting those hard wood floors installed. It’s a big job and the weekend goes by fast! We pick-up Austin this weekend and that will eat up a day but I can’t wait to see him. A month is too long. I spoke to him last night and he misses us too. I need to give my boy a big, giant squeeze!!!! Man I miss that kid something awful. Yes, a month is just too long…
PS: Kathleen, Jocie from OPC The Better Half will be contacting you to arrange the details.

Shannon,
Thank you so much for choosing my project as this weeks winner in the OPC before and after contest. I am so honored to have been chosen by you – the amazing Fox Hollow Cottage! I just posted over at OPC that I’m working on a blog post but it’s taking me awhile as we got a new puppy and phew, am I tired! I’ll get this done shortly. Thanks again Shannon, I’m so excited and I have to keep pinching myself!!!

Thanks Angela,
I was in such shock when I got the email, I had to keep re-checking to make sure I wasn’t just imagining it! My husband was like, no you really won! It really is an honor with all the great submissions and I’m excited that Habitat for Humanity will be getting a donation.
