Partnering with Better Homes & Gardens, at Walmart for today’s sponsored post
Calm Cozy Christmas Living Room
Hello Foxy friends!! It’s time. Time for the very first holiday post of the year. And I’m kicking it off in our living room. It’s feeling all cozy, and extra calm this year for Christmas. I went white. You read that right, White. But never fear, you’ll be seeing traditional Christmas red down at The Little Cottage soon. I’m taking a break from many years of red here at the main house, and lucky, lucky me that I can get my red fix, and share even more ideas & inspiration with you, thanks to the addition of The Little Cottage.
For today, welcome to my Wintery white holiday respite.
When I got my Better Homes & Gardens holidays catalogs, it was so hard not to share what was coming. You guys, I am not a good waiter. I think we’ve touched on this before. lol. But I behaved and didn’t say a peep or share a peek. Until now!
Better Homes & Gardens Birch Finish Star Hurricane
Get to Walmart, fast as you can. These are going to fly off the shelves! And they are only available in-store. They are really cute… and, I’m going to say it, VERSATILE. My favorite.
Oh, they come in two sizes too. I’ve got the large on the coffee table and the smaller is tucked on the side table. I show you in a second.
They are lined with glass so you can use them as a vase too! Bonus. You know I love that!
I filled mine with snow, and popped a candle in. Cute + Cozy + Easy. Done.
(I don’t burn my candles unattended – Use battery powered candles if you have any concerns)
I’m all about easy this year.
Which might have you thinking, didn’t she just say she was going to decorate The Little Cottage? True, I might be planning to decorate a little more square footage, but I’m decorating less elaborately.
My big plan is to do exactly what I want to, without putting any pressure on myself.
I want time.
Time to volunteer where I’m needed, bake, make cards, craft with my family & friends and to visit with family & friends. So I’m giving myself that gift, by deciding on how I’m going to spend it.
Many of you have commented over the years on my white churches I decorate with. I love white churches. I’ve got wood ones, ornaments, ceramic ones… they are so peaceful.
So it was only natural I’d select the White Church Scene, out of all the wax warmer varieties.
I love that it has a night-light like quality.
There are loads of yummy wax melts to use with the different warmers – These are a few I picked for my home.
I couldn’t help but do some gift shopping while I was selecting items for our home, and I’ll be sharing those gifting ideas with you in a few weeks! The older I get, the more deeply I enjoy giving. It’s definitely more satisfying then shopping for myself.
I’ve begun to believe that throws are much like pillows, you can never have too many! What cozier way to complete a room than with soft blankets for snuggling? And the velvet plush sherpa throws this season are so stinking cute.
Look at the glow this soft metallic gold is giving off. Magic I tell you!!
I hope you’ve got a Walmart close-by, otherwise, I may be really teasing you… because the Deer Pillar Holder is an in-store only item.
I know! So cute.
He comes in Gold or Silver. I bought 5 of the 6 Gold Deer at our local store. I felt a bit guilty, but I thought they would look so pretty, prancing down my holiday table. Good luck hunting if you go looking for some! You’ll be seeing mine later in the season.
That was just a close-up for you. He is actually hanging out over on my side table, with one of the smaller Birch Hurricanes.
Setting both atop an old silver tray, with a sprinkle of snow, was all it took to add a festive feel that will take me from the big holiday, clear through Winter.
Though it wasn’t dark, I took a few pictures with everything lit-up for you. Enjoy…
The trees are still naked, and who knows? They might stay that way? Right now, I’m just enjoying the glow, and taking it slow. This is the most calm, and relaxed I’ve ever felt going into the holidays since I began blogging.
I love partnering with Better Homes & Gardens and sharing how I use their goodies in my home with you!! I love the feedback you share, and that so many of us find their items affordable, and able to easy to manage with our budgets.
Thank you so much for joining me here at our cottage. I wish you all a happy upcoming Thanksgiving, and I look forward to sharing with you throughout this upcoming holiday season!! Blessings to all!! xo Shannnon
