Celebrating Spring Home Tour
Hey guys! It’s me, Shannon.
YES! I’m still here.
When I said I was going to be a bit MIA while getting ready for the show, I was so not joking. I picked up my mom in the city last Thursday and it’s been a whirlwind of activity since!
When Jen from Mignon’s home invited me to participate in the Spring Home Tour, I said yes immediately. Of course I want to welcome Springtime, lighten up my home and embrace the season to come.
– Plus, for one… I knew it would be the perfect nudge for me to take the time to invite Spring in before the real frenzy hit. I love to decorate for all the seasons and I didn’t want to miss this one. I could see myself getting caught up in what I was doing and skipping it though. I’m extra glad I said yes, because after a busy day, it’s been nice to have at least part of the house looking like Springtime. (and not like a tornado hit it!)
– And two, I love getting the chance to offer great giveaways to you guys!!!!
- Blue Mist Table Lamp. Love it!!!! Looks like wood and came with an awesome shade. Under 50 bucks too! For the lamp & shade. That is a killer deal. If you want a killer deal when you go shopping for lamps, get coupons for table lamps at GetYourCouponCodes! With my lamp, it looks like weathered wood and I dig the finish. Looks fantastic with our rustic console table too and the rest of our rustic country furniture. This one will not be making it to the show, because it’s mine. All mine!
My Spring fluff-up budget was under a hundred bucks, and I got the lamp above, two darling rope accented “lanterns” (I use that term loosely because they are super-versatile), two kitchen crocks, a monogrammed door mat and a set of measuring spoons! All delivered right to my door. Including shipping.
Being in a small town, online shopping has become a resource I am so thankful for. We don’t have a Kirkland’s in all or Oregon, but guess what? Totally does not mater. I shopped there often when I lived in Southern California, and I’m so happy to have re-discovered them! I was impressed with the packing too, which I think is so important. I can’t stand to wait for something to arrive, only to have it damaged when it does. I’m not a good waiter as it is! There was not a dent, scratch or a thing out of place on anything I ordered.
This is my favorite place to relax! It’s the spot I watch my girly shows, unwind, play on instagram, read magazines, etc… and I truly enjoy surrounding myself with things that make me happy to look at, and be around.
I’m tickled with my new things. They play nice with my already existing decor and I already know the lamp is going to move about my home nicely!
The new stuff has to get along with the old.
Like some of my cheap, vintage globes I’ve collected over the years.
Pillows I order from Instagram pals.
(you can find her here)
Mix & match DIY furniture projects.
Maybe even the occasional Whale.
Or sequin…
(I’ll never regret going back for that pillow… I can’t believe HomeGoods still had it! It was meant to be)
My space reflects me & my moods. At any given moment.
There is something so light and freeing about being able to move and change things whenever I like!
Even when it’s just the little things.
Actually, it’s almost always the little things.
A new color, a bit of shine…
Even small changes can make everything else feel brand new!
And fresh.
- Clear Glass Lantern w/Jute Rope. These are JUST my kind of thing. You can use them for so much more than candles. Right now, my big one is full of Lilacs and it looks glorious!! Presently storming and grey, or I would have included a photo of the most recent inhabitants. These are priced so friendly too. I love a good bargain.
You know I love multi-use items and I’m so glad these new additions play well with my Homegoods zinc-top lantern. I don’t think I ever put that away… it just moves around the house.
This spot in our old home is a challenge. You open the front door and… Bam! You are inside. No entryway, no easing in.
So this is it for now, but I’m going to be making some changes to this space over the Summer. Or at least, I’ve got a plan brewing in my lil brain!
For now, I decorated the table with a wood runner. (I love these things!) I left this one natural but I’ve got white as well. They are super for adding texture, interest, and really showing off what you put on them.
I layered it up with lots of hurricanes & lanterns & a lil’ chick.
The bike on the mantel is purely for fun!
I even added tiny battery operated fairy lights.
I couldn’t leave my bunnies out of all the festivities!
I didn’t do a big “Easter” mantel like I usually do, but I had to get them out.
I’m so glad I take a breaks from my Aqua. Like Ross & Rachel. I know we will get back together in the end. It’s nice to miss something a little though.
- Vintage Rooster Utensil Holder. Under $10.00 is such a happy little price point. And again, I can put flowers in these as well. I say these, because I got a white one too. You know… it goes with everything. haha. Already looking forward to having lots of fun with them this Summer!
I just did a wee bit of Easter in the sun room this year.
Just a sprinkle of glittery goodness.
I couldn’t resist getting them out.
Before I leave off… in the spirit of full disclosure, I must tell you, that with 4 days until the show things are not looking quite like this anymore. We have the farm table, kitchen table and the sun room stuffed full of goodies, with all the big stuff like furniture and such is down at the little cottage. Just some wrap-up stuff to complete now. And no last minute projects. If it’s not done… it’s not making it to this show! I work my house hard and it’s always fluid. From pretty for a home tour one day, to room-flipping… to staging room/storage for a show. We live in it. All of it. And I thank-you for stopping by today to visit.
Now, enough about me! There are 24 other bloggers that are eager to share their homes with you too. And I bet, some of them actually look like they do in the pictures they are sharing… {wink-wink}
Check out the amazing blogs that are part of this home tour.
