Chalkboard Wall Fireplace Update
Meet Mr. Black
My new best guy! (don’t tell Jim… winks)
Whew! We’ve been so busy here, I’m just getting a chance to do a quick share of the change I made to the fireplace. Now, I’m not usually particularly trendy… but this trend is much loved at fox hollow!!
Pretty sure chalkboard paint is like crack to me.
I already painted my open kitchen cabinets with Maison Blanche paint in Wrought Iron (it acts as chalkboard paint) and Magnolia, but I guess that just wasn’t enough. I love the depth of the black paint, and the texture that it adds to my home once it’s seasoned. You can see and read all about that project here. As well as learn how to season fresh chalk board paint and how to stencil with chalk.
This was the previous look, with the hearth trim white and the old carpet.
You can read about how we made the fireplace over for under $150 here.
(there are before, before pictures there too. super ugly ones!!)
Anyhow, like I said.. it’s just a quickie. I still need to get the new hearth trim painted!!
We have onnnne teeny tiny little transition piece left to do and some switches and plate covers to replace after all the wall painting… and then we are done. Until the next project idea pops in our heads!
Hope you can come by tomorrow to see the new fireplace look decorated for Fall.
It’ll be it’s debut!!
