Cupid’s Arrow Has Hit The Hollow
Hello my friends!
I’m so happy that I’m able to share this little bit of Valentine’s Day at the cottage with you! Last weekend, my failed flight attempt did result in a conciliatory trip to Target & HomeGoods. Just proof that there is always a silver lining. While at Target I hit the Dollar Spot, and I use that term veeeerrry loosely, because who has ever. In their life. Spent one dollar at the “Dollar Spot”? If you have, bravo!!
It sucked me in hard and I left $43 lighter. I know. I’m so fired!! I don’t know what happened? It was like sleep shopping or something. I think it being so far doesn’t help. I get in the buy it now or never see it again mind set.
Well anyhow… they have these red & white cake plates. They are $5 – so there goes the whole “dollar” thing right there. Boom. Off the bat. Dollar budget blown. hahaha. I was a goner after that. Yeah, that was it.
They are ceramic and sooo very cute. A total steal for $5 – so I bought two.
I know you would do the same thing!
I wasn’t sure why I needed two, but they were too cute to pass up. When I got home and started fiddling and fluffing, I found I liked them on the apothecary cabinet. When the holiday gets closer they will be so darling with cupcakes or cookies piled up on them! I’m sure the boys won’t complain.
I got these gold & crystal cake stands on clearance a few years ago at HomeGoods.
I’m sensing a theme here…
More treats! lol
I tossed my “Be Mine” pillow on the seat of my coffee sack chair… and next thing you know I was decorating for Valentine’s day. The “Be Mine” tea towels are from HomeGoods.
I don’t know why, but I have particular things I’m attracted to and I buy them over and over. Does anyone else do that? I find myself doing it and I might need to decide what is acceptable collecting… and what is hoarding?
That might hurt a little.
Because clearly, I needed another tea towel.
This basket is stuffed, and I’d like to say that is all of them… but I can’t.
I’ve gotten really lucky finding chippy, old enamelware over the years and these are a few of my pieces. Even empty, and just stacked. They are perfect to me.
White dishes make things so simple. It’s easy to add a dash of this, and a pop of that… and the apothecary cabinet looks fresh & new! It makes it a delight to decorate.
I’ve still got $33 worth of Target goods that my happy butt better decorate with when I get home from California, so I should have more Valentine’s to share with you in about a week. {wink wink}

I came over from another blog, and love your home and style. The chandelier in the kitchen/dining area is gorgeous. Did you purchase? I cannot find anything like it, and adore the white. Can you share where it came from?
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Shannon at Fox Hollow Cottage says
I bought that at a small boutique store down in California many years ago.
I’ll see if I can find it or one like it online and I’ll let you know!

Oh! Thanks for responding. Too kind. I’ve bookmarked the blog and am getting to know you. If I ever started a blog, I’d thought of your name because we had an actual fox move in and have babies in our attic! Now we get fox everything as gifts.
I read your last post, and appreciate it too. I’m never happy when anyone is in a funk, but knowing I’m not the only one helps.
Have a great week!

Your display looks lovely! Thanks for the inspiration. And, I can definitely relate to the “I can never have too many tea towels syndrome.” 😉

Cute! Love the symmetry of it:) Target has left Cabada now after a brief foray here and I’m still rather sore about the loss:(

I know. I’m so sorry 🙁 I remember hearing the news.
Mine is 4 hours round trip on a two lane highway if it makes you feel any better?
