Easter Spring Cadbury Egg Sugar Cookie Dessert Recipe
Just in time for Spring and Easter… we’re going to show you how to make “Cracked” Easter Egg Frosted Sugar Cookies with Katie Jane!
Please Welcome Katie Jane
Hello everyone! Alright yes, I realize that St. Patrick’s Day is coming before Easter. But I looooove Easter. Easter is like Christmas, but without the presents and food. And sometimes less snow. I live in the North though, so usually there’s snow. Anyway. Since Easter is coming, I hath made cookie-nest-cadbury-egg-thingies (notice how I said hath. It makes me posh) and I am going to share them with you.
See them? They look funny. Like cracked eggs. That was the point, though, so I’m glad they look like cracked eggs.
DIRECTIONS
-
The first thing you’re going to need to do is make yourself some sugar cookie dough. This will make the bottom part.
-
Then you need to dye it. You can dye it whatever color you’d like.
-
I wanted to dye it pink but we had no red food coloring so I had to stick with blue. I should add that I used Easy Sugar Cookies from Allrecipes .
-
Put the cookie dough in a (greased) muffin pan. Each cookie base will have about 3 tablespoons of dough.
-
Cook them. (If you’re using the recipe above^ cook them at 350 F for 13-15 minutes). (The cookies should be slightly soft and warm when you take them out.)
-
Press a cup into the center to make them into a bowl-y like shape. MAKE SURE THEY’RE SOFT ENOUGH TO HANDLE. I like my cookies to be really soft. All forms of cookies. Even snicker doodles. Let the cookies cool while you begin the center stuff.
NOW FOR THE CENTER
Cadbury Cream center (lightly adapted from inkatrinaskitchen’s recipe)
You will need:
-
½ c. corn syrup
-
¼ c. butter, softened
-
2’ish tsp vanilla (original recipe called for 1 but I added more)
-
3 c. powdered sugar
-
yellow food coloring
-
Combine everything except the food coloring. You want it to be smooth. Add powdered sugar until incorporated.
-
Remove some of the mix, setting some white aside, and add yellow food coloring. You want it to look the color of the center of the egg.
-
Pour the white part of the mix into the cookie cups (or scoop it into the center. I had to scoop it). Add a small drop of yellow into the center. Do this for every cookie.
Then you’re done. I should warn you, these cookies are really sweet. Like, so sweet that you feel like your teeth will fall off with one bite. It’s a good falling off of teeth though.
Yep. Okay, bye.
Big thanks to Katie Jane for sharing another great goody recipe with us.
They are so cute… and I’m pretty she really made them “aqua” blue because that’s my color… don’t you think so?
I wonder how they taste? I think she should start sending me samples to preview… hehehe 😉
