Getting HomeGoods Happy with My Mom
My mom made me do it.
You’re buying that line right?
We stopped at HomeGoods a few weeks ago when I had to give her up and take her to the airport. I got some fun new stuff for the house! Just the right kind of things to usher in Summertime.
I am so ready.
My bike is still taking up residence on the mantel. It makes me happy. I think this might be the longest I’ve ever left anything on my mantel? So… I’m sure I’ll change it next week. lol.
Anyhow, my big find was this fantastic Aqua lantern.
You know what a lantern nut I am… so this giant aqua beauty was a no-brainer!! I put it in the cart, and then we went around seeing what else we could fit in the cart along with it.
I was good and hit the pillow isle last, thinking maybe I would skip it this trip.
I am such a sucker for them. Every. Time.
While I didn’t find these in the pillow isle… they got me on the way to the check out line in a big beachy-fun display!
I think “Life Is Better At The Beach” & “Surf Sunshine Sand” pretty much scream Summer.
This room changes a lot for me because it’s so easy to flip around a few tables, swap out the pillows and put a new vignette on the coffee table. And bam. Feels like a fresh, new space.
Changing my coffee table is a fav thing to freshen.
A basket. My aqua Ball Jar stuffed lantern, some reading and a lei from one of our Hawaii trips as a book mark.
The Sea sign sits & has lil hangers on the back too. It would be super on a gallery wall.
Of which I do not have. Small house. Lots of windows… itty bitty wall space.
I wasn’t sure about the golden yellow really going with anything I had, but I liked it when I spied it. Heck, I never should have given it a second thought. It’s slide right in and been such a happy color to have around.
I forget if I bought the rug first, or the pillow? I’ll have to ask my mom. She was with me for both.
When you add a new color, do you start seeing it everywhere? Or is that just me. I already added something else in this pretty goldenrod shade. It tripped me in the store 😉
I’ve got it tucked away, it was camera shy for this shoot.
Do you hunt & gather new home decor… and find new things, and hang on to them so you can do little mini makeovers on your spaces? I like doing it that way. It’s easy and affordable. And I like that!
Happy-happy Summertime.
I love my home so much, it truly is my happy place where I can go to unwind after a stressful day and just sit and watch the world go by. Therefore, it’s no secret that during my time as a home blogger I’ve accumulated a lot of gorgeous interiors. For this reason, it’s so important to have the right home insurance so that all of my furnishings and possessions are protected in case of a disaster.
An old colleague of mine has recently moved to Australia and managed to get a new home insurance policy through youi home cover. You could take a look at the different types of insurance they offer if you live in that part of the world and your policies are due for renewal. Who knows, you might even be able to save some money to spend on new interiors!
We have been so busy here with projects and family obligations. I’m trying to get back on track… and I’ve got lots to share. There are some new things I want to tell you all about.
Sadly… I must get dinner on the table now. But soon!!
Take care, Shannon
Love everything!! I am a beach person & this is awesome!
Thanks Linda. I grew up at the beach. I’m a SoCal baby.
It’s especially fun for Summer 🙂 Glad you like it.
Hi Shannon…. I love your Summer look…. I like the lightness and freshness of Beachy….. but hubby hates it.. I have a ‘Beachy Look’ toilet/powder room that he has accepted. lol …..
I love changing the coloured tablecloths in the kitchen/dining room area .. different colour, different look. …easy
I love your yellow rug and cushion…
have a great day..
Hugs… Barbxxx
Awe darn! Maybe ya can sneak a little beach in a tiny bit at a time 😉 hehe
Have a wonderful weekned!!
I love it all esp the bike. How neat is that. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! That bike is so fun I tell ya 🙂
So gorgeous! And as always, the attention to details is exquisite!
Awe.. THANKS! 🙂
Looks gorgeous! I love the bike pallet too..I agree this is the longest standing decor over the mantel I have ever seen since I know you. Love the pretty sunshiny pillows too.
I’m dreaming up a new pallet sign. I think it’s days are numbered!
bwah hahahahaha….
I will answer your question….. I never add a new color. I’m so color challenged. That’s why I read blogs, people actually change their mantels and add new colors to their homes.
But YOU… you make AMAZING things.
I just decorate & fluff 😉
I love it! Love that store, too. [It’s a good thing and an unfortunate thing that they opened a new HomeGoods store lest than 12 miles from me… oh, my!] Your posts are inspiring me to downsize and be rid of “stuff” so I can update to beach stuff for our future retirement home. Who needs all this old stuff? Ha! There is a store near enough and I have paint enough to “DO OVER”! 🙂
Shannon , everything is so fresh, bright & gorgeous!!!! Have a fabulous week friend!!
