Happenings At The Hollow 5

Once upon a time, there was a girl who wrote a blog.

It was called Fox Hollow Cottage.

Then she went on vacation.

The End.

Or so you would think right? Oh my gosh. To say I’ve had a hard time getting back into the swing of things since coming home from vacation would be an understatement.  Actually, I’m swinging just fine. In all but one area. Writing. Now, I know it’s not like I’m some fabulous writer but the few times I’ve sat down to begin a post it’s like I can’t really get going. You know? I’ve got lots to share too. So I really need to tell you guys all about it! Top that off with hitting some random key and killing a post I spent a ton of time on when I was thisclose to being done and I felt like I was never going to pull out of this nose dive!

You see, I put a bit of pressure on myself to write posts that have something for the reader to take away. A tutorial. A trick. A craft they can copy (if they like). A recipe (on occasion). A room reveal to spark their decorating mojo… something… anything besides rambling and musings. You know like this has been so far.

Anyhow. This is what has been going on. In a nutshell.

ONE  – The Epic Room Flip. If you follow me on Instagram and Facebook, I’ve been talking about and sharing little tidbits about The Epic Room Flip. Well. It is underway. Why do I call it EPIC? Because I am flipping Austin’s Room (previously unseen here at FHC) and my Home Decor Storage Room (see it here and here). You see, I think EPIC is fitting since the Home Decor Storage Room is filled with an EPIC amount of cr_ “stuff”. We’ll call it stuff. And crazy people can throw the term EPIC around and get away with it right? Oh good.

TWO – A Full Room Makeover. The reason for the ERF (epic room flip) is that Austin is getting a much needed room makeover! I intended to do this last Summer while he was gone in California, but we painted a ton and installed new wood floors instead. And time ran out and we just did not get to it. I’ve got time now, so we are going for it. Big time! It’s a joint venture and he is really involved and surprisingly, very excited. I’m so happy things worked out as they did since we are moving him into a new room. (Stay tuned, I’ll be sharing the makeover and flip as we go!)

This is what my house looked like yesterday – A big flipping mess.

Get it? I knew you would. That’s why I like you.

THREE – I was approached by a really wonderful company to be a Brand Ambassador. I know this is tease-y, but I’m not sure if I am allowed to talk about it yet? I’ll tell you as soon as I can. Promise!! I just had to semi-spill it though!!

FOUR – The post I lost. In this post here I shared some of the things we want to work on in 2014 and one of them is going to happen a lot sooner than I thought. I was telling you all about it in the post I lost. I’m working on that one, again, so as soon as I finish re writing it I’ll share with you.

FIVE – The Thank You. Thanks for hanging in there with me. Sometimes, this blogging is not as easy as it looks. I’m not saying it’s Rocket Science… but it does take effort and dedication. Both of which I possess. I already feel much more in the groove having checked-in and written this catch-up post. I’m grinning big right now. For real!!
