Happenings At The Hollow 7
Happenings At The Hollow 7 Hello my foxy friends! I've been meaning to write this for some time, knowing that I really needed to touch-base with you all, and kind of let you know what's going on with me. It's been almost 5 years since I did a 'Happenin...

Blessing for a speedy recovery! Looking forward to you coming back but don’t rush!

So sorry to hear about you having surgery but IAM sure you will do fine . Just take it easy and rest and keep your computer in front of you to watch things that make you smile. My prayers will be with you that our Lord will give you a speedy recovery . All is well.

knee replacement should not scare you – one word of advice… without fail do the rehab – stretch those muscles and tendons back in place – hard work for 2 weeks will give you a lifetime of peace…..bob

Oh Shannon I did noticed your absence! I’m sorry you are going through this. I’ve been dealing with a migraine for the last 10 days , on and off and the Doctors call it stress or a pinched nerve on my neck.
I do have a friend who went through knee surgery and besides reacting to the anesthesia (she lost her appetite; therefore lost weight , but being diabetic it was concerning and watched carefully). She is doing amazing! She can walk faster and climb stairs without any pain at all! You’ll be in my prayers. Go for it; God will be with you , all the way. Hugs.

My knee replacement was the best thing I ever did! It changed my life! There will be some post-op pain, but doesn’t last too long and can be controlled easily. You will need physical therapy for awhile, with at home exercises. Wishing you a good luck and a speedy recovery…
Shannon at Fox Hollow Cottage says
Thank you Anne, I’m happy to hear you are doing so well!!
Can’t wait to join the “after” club and move forward from all this 🙂

Hey,
I just want to encourage you. I had back surgery 3 3/4 years ago after 36 years of putting it off and it was the best thing ever.
I’ve just had a shoulder reconstruction 8 months ago and while I thought I was never going to recover from that I’m now doing much better.
It’s the long game you need to keep focused on. 12mths post surgery after all the hard work in rehab therapy and you’ll he great.
I also really understand your frustrations when there are projects piling up and you just can’t do them. Sounds like you are staying positive. You won’t regret doing it. I know I haven’t regretted my 2 major surgeries.
Onwards and upwards
Faye

I don’t envy you the shoulder surgery! We need out arms for everything and I’m sure it’s been difficult!
At least recovering from my knee I can work at my desk and hopefully type away, pain free.
I hope you continue to inch towards a full recovery and you feel better than ever soon!!

So sorry to read you are going through this procedure. Blessings to you before and after the surgery. There are homeopathic remedies that can help after the surgery (with pain, swelling, and also the healing process etc.). There are also homeopathic remedies that can help with anticipatory anxiety about the upcoming surgery. Blessings to you.

You poor thing! I hope that the MRI will give some answers to your pinched nerve dilema and that you’ll soon be able to get your knee replacement. Everyone that I know who has had a knee replacement says that they wish they’d done it sooner. I’m glad you wrote this post to let us know what is going on. Best wishes for a successful surgery and recovery!
Shannon at Fox Hollow Cottage says
Thank you so much Paula! I didn’t have much to report before, I’d have just been complaining. hehe.
Now that I’ve got an (almost) plan, I felt like I could let you all in. I hope you are doing well – all the bast, Shannon

Sending prayers for a quick and complete recovery!! I have a sneaking suspicion you are a bit like me – impatient to get on with life and likely to push too far too fast. Take the time to do what you need to do and to heal properly and completely. We’ll miss you but we’ll be here when you are ready to be back!!
Terro says
You know we have your back. Whatever you need we are here – a prayer? We’re here. Some kind words? We’re here. Unsolicited medical advice? We’re here for that too. But mostly to let you know that you are LOVED and we will be thinking of you and praying for your quick and complete recovery. The only way for this to be behind you is to get through it. And you WILL! So remember: you are stronger than you think and braver than you know!!
Shannon at Fox Hollow Cottage says
THANK YOU!!!! Love your sweet wishes, and of course, the closing lines… xo Shan

Oh Shannon I am sorry to read this. My mother had both knees replaced (in her 80’s) and did just great. There’s the initial pain post surgery but you are able to stand on your leg and not feel the pain anymore. I can well imagine the apprehension you have about this but I know at least 4 other people who have gone through it very successfully! Hang in there!

Thank you honey. All these great accounts of success are certainly encouraging and will help me through the process knowing so many others have walked this path.

I know what you are going through. I was told I need replacement on both knees. I went through the cortizone shots too and one knee work and the other did not. I was in so much pain and could not walk very well. The Doctor wants me to lose a lot of weight before he does the surgery. Both knees are bone on bone. He told me about this gel that he puts in the knees and it can help for up to six months or maybe not at all. I said I would try it. It worked and it has been 8 months. I do feel I need it again because the pain is coming back. Most insurance will pay for it every 6 months. I cannot walk like I use to, but no pain. I am going into the Doctor later this month to have the gel put in again. I am scared to have knee surgery because I have seen the good and the bad. You might want to check and see if you can have it until you can have your surgery. The gel works for some and not for others, so it is a hit and miss too. I wish you good luck.

So sorry to hear you’ve been limited… temporarily. Hoping you spring back quickly after the ordeal. Hey, the cottage is ONE LEVEL, so I’d consider moving in THERE for recovery 😀

Shannon,
I can’t help in the department of having had knee surgery,
but I did work as a receptionist for 2 1/2 years for physical therapy.
It is important that you do your therapy!
Ice can be your best friend, so I’ve been told by physicians & patients.
I’ll be lifting you up in prayer for healing to begin in your body. . .
before and after surgery.
