Holiday Home Tour: More Christmas at the Cottage
Hello and welcome to day two of Christmas glee at Fox Hollow.
If you missed visiting yesterday, you can find the first part of our tour, featuring our main living area and mantel here.
Today, I want to share our kitchen and the sun room.
We left off yesterday here…
With a peek into the sun room and kitchen from our farm table, layered with linens, a big pallet runner and lots of goody filled glass!
If you look a little to the left… HELLO!
You’ll be in the kitchen.
Our home is older, and not overly large, but oddly enough, it’s got a pretty open floor plan on the main level.
Pretty sure there was some fiddling done at some point.
I didn’t use the fresh greens all over the house like I usually do, because I started decorating early, and I knew they would not make it… I missed them though, so I added some here in the kitchen.
I love that you can stick them anywhere for an instant holiday feel!
We are really fortunate to have Holly, Cedar, Douglas Fir and more on our property.
Here is where I’ll ask a favor… my kitchen is like my Achilles heel.
I’m so happy with how it feels in here.
There is a but coming… BUT, there is a skylight. In theory this is a good thing, except that it blasts one side of the kitchen with light and makes such bad shadow on the things I tuck in the corners. Nothing ever quite looks like it does in person when I share it. (blogger problems I know!)
So let’s pretend these are bright and beautiful and not all a little “off”.
It can be your Christmas gift to me! And I’ll continue to practice and learn, and maybe one day I’ll be taking rocking kitchen pictures? Sound good?
Hey, it could happen.
In the meantime, whew... almost out of the kitchen!
My mom gave my this frosty prim snowman and he’s got an extra special place of honor this year right in the center of everything! I love that when she was looking at the tour, she noticed him right off and mentioned it to me when we spoke.
I think she’ll like this next one.
(He really is so cute!!)
We’ve got a set of open cabinet on the far side of the room and… well fancy that, looks like we had a snow storm in them!
Hope that truck has four wheel drive!
If you like my fat Santa garland, you can print one free for yourself here.
There was more snow… you can read all about that (if you’d like a laugh!) here.
Next, we can take a step down into the sun room.
If you like, you can find a simple tutorial for making the candle snowman here, or click on the photo below.
Since we don’t have a full size Christmas tree, I added more table top trees here in the sun room. One by the apothecary cabinet, and a few up on the bar as well!
Between these and the living room trees… I figure they add up to one whole tree.
That is special blonde math.
I call it the Shannon method.
Some of the ornaments are from the Dollar Tree, and I share the tutorial and before & afters here, if you’d like to make some too!
I printed and framed this jolly guy and I just want to pinch those cheeks!!!!
Best Santa face ever.
Vintage finds, junk silver… candy canes and some this & thats make the apothecary cabinet Christmas ready.
This tree is decorated in with the same colors as the other.
The very glittery J, A and S are new this year.
And.. a few more candy canes.
Because I’m trying to single handedly keep the Dollar Tree in business.
You didn’t see those…
Wishing you are very Merry, extra Joyous, magical Christmas!

I looked through two separate holiday house tours and your house and decor is by far my favorite!! The classic red and white and that Santa face is how I remember Christmas being decorated. Thank you for sharing it! Have a happy holiday season!
