How To Create an Organized Jewelry and Fashion Accessory Station
Find tips on how to create a budget friendly accessory storage wall! I’ll show you how to use paint and Command hooks to make an organized wall that can hold all your scarves, sun glasses, and more! Keep reading and I’ll show you how to create an organized jewelry and fashion accessory station. PLUS, I’ve got some pretty and practical organizing ideas for fashion jewelry like earrings and necklaces too.
It’s officially Spring now. So I can talk about my Spring scarf collection right?
The “collection” I previously added on to when I went down to California and saw a cute one (or 6) everywhere we went. I love scarves. I wear them year round. Soft chenille’s and chunky cable knits for Winter. I just find them so comforting and snuggly! I even have a favorite light weight leopard print that I wear in the Spring and Summer.
After my little “scarf splurge” I now have fun, bright colors and I wanted to organize them so I could take full advantage of wearing them on a daily basis. I wanted them out where I could grab what I wanted quickly and go. Not hunt around for 15 minutes in three different places while my husband taps his foot that I am late. You know, not that I am ever late…
So anyhow, if you have lots of accessories all over the place, this might be just the ticket for you, and your toe tapping hubby as well!
I had the just place for them…
This section of wall was just hanging around not doing much of anything, so I put it to work with Command brand hooks. Offering damage free hanging, they were my perfect solution.
You can visit the Command brand site by clicking here. You’ll be surprised at the variety they have. I know I was!
How To Create an Organized Jewelry and Fashion Accessory Station
For This Project I Used:
-
Utensil Hooks in Clear, I used 12
-
Decorating Clips in Clear, I used 1
-
Painters Tape
-
A Level
-
Paint
HOW TO CREATE AN ACCESSORY WALL:
-
I mapped out my Command hook strategy! I decided where I wanted everything to hang and used my trusty blue tape and my level to place a temporary guide on the wall for positioning my hooks. I didn’t want them look like an EKG read out!
-
Next, get ready to place your strip on the hook. Peel off the backing and place the BLUE side onto the hook back. Apply with firm, even pressure. Next, peel the black side off the strip on the hook back and apply to the wall. Press hook firmly for 30 seconds. Wait one hour before use.
TIP: make sure to follow all package instructions for surface prep, application, weight load and surface to hook compatibility.
-
I painted my wall with an accent of pink but that is of course *optional and in no way affects the performance of the Command hooks, no mater what your husband tells you.
-
Place hooks along your tape line using it as a guide.
-
Repeat as necessary for what your space requires.
-
Remove tape.
-
Make sure to wait that hour before hanging anything on your newly installed hooks! I know it’s hard.
-
Hang your goodies on the hooks and feel awesome that you knocked another project off your list.
Using your paint in a decorative way, you can get so creative and mix up your colors, shape and design to create your own organized jewelry and accessory storage. There are so many possibilities!
To get the framed jewelry look below: use a Decorating Clip in Clear. Affix Decorating Clip to glass. Apply gentle, steady pressure but don’t press too hard! Wait the hour and hang a cute, chunky turquoise bracelet on it.
Did I mention the wall I just worked on is solid concrete?
I have never been able to do anything with it until now. I can not begin to tell you how happy it makes me that this is such a useful space now.
If you decide to make your very own organized spot in your home for your accessories and jewelry, I hope you’ll make sure to share it with me!

It looks amazing Shannon! I love how fun you made that space with the paint. I love using command products- I hang things with the strips all the time… I need to command in order to save my walls from my frequent redecorating!! Can’t wait to see what else you do with the products:)
Shannon at Fox Hollow Cottage says
It feels so good Krista! Thank you. Nothing like one more thing checked off the list for sure. Adore being more organized. I don’t know why I had not tried them before? What was I thinking!?
Randi - Dukes and Duchesses says
That’s such a great idea … my oldest daughter would love to have something like that in her room.
Shannon at Fox Hollow Cottage says
It’s been really nice. I can just see everything, and put it right back too. Total time saver and I tend to use my things more when I can see them, VS being tucked away. So glad you liked it!!
KC @ The Real Thing with the Coake Family says
Oh, I totally need this. Right now everything is jumbled in a dresser drawer. This would make it so much fun to get ready in the morning. Thanks for the ideas.

Shannon at Fox Hollow Cottage says
Exactly! That was me. Tangled on a hanger or piled in little plastic bins and you could only see what was on top. So I avoided it.

Great idea! Command hooks are so versatile, and I love the idea of displaying pretty scarves and accessories instead of shoving them in a drawer or jewelry box. Your space looks so bright and fun!
Vanessa says
Your accessory station looks so fabulous Shannon!! My scarves are all jumbled up on hangers so I’m having a little bit of organizational envy here. LOL! Congrats on being an ambassador for Command! I’m so happy for you friend! 🙂

Hi Sonya! That sounds fun. You know, the frame is from Ross and they have them all the time. This was really a great way to use my wall space and I think the hooks I used would keep the project under ten bucks!!
