I’m Officially The Mother of a 16 Year Old!

Today is our son Austin’s Birthday.
He turned 16 at 5:04 am

They tell you the time flies…

and they are right,
it does.
A gentle breeze one day.
A strong gust the next.
Only to be followed by a Tornado
that scoops you up and hurls you forward
to find many years have passed.
Leaving you to wonder where they went?
I can still remember getting this picture taken!
He was so little here… not even a year old yet.
and this one, on vacation on Oahu.
He thought that bird was so cool!
He wanted to hang out and pet it forever 🙂
This one was mommy and me time.
I love that we have some special pictures with just us!
I picked him up from school one day and headed to the mall to get some pictures taken, on a whim.
They are a real treasure!

And at 14 with his buds!
They are all such good boys! And so big now.
They’ll all be over for the party tomorrow.
I’ll have to get a comparison shot!
The most fervent wish of my entire life was to 
survive to be a mother to my son. 
It has been granted.
I love my bug more then any words could express.
Austin only asked for one gift for his birthday.
So, he got a new graphics card for his PC!
To say he could not get it installed fast enough would be an understatement 🙂


He really could not be bothered with turning around. haha

    Time just flies, doesn’t it? I’ve always heard “the days are long, but the years are short” and the older I get the more I see the truth in that! Happy birthday to your special boy!

    What a good looking son you have! Happy Birthday to him! Isn’t it funny how they get older they are happy with less gifts–but the price tag sure doesn’t go down.

    You are so right, time flies–mine are 22, 13, and two boys that are 12. I cherish every minute!

    Okay…typing through tears here! My “baby” is now 14, going to highschool in 2 weeks. It’s gut wrenching. I hate that he is getting older. I too remember being told that I may not get to see him grow to be a man, and am so proud and happy that I can…love to you, and Happy Birthday to Austin!
