Christmas 2011 & Our Holiday Mantle
It seems like I have been in wading through Christmas decor up to my eyeballs for weeks!!
…and I know lots of you feel the same exact way.
Well, I am happy to say I am
D-O-N-E
(yay)
Now, We just get to sit back and ENJOY =)
With plenty of time to bake cookies
(well, there’s always time for cookies)
visit with friends and family, watch Christmas movies and spend time together.
I shared my living with you all a bit ago, since it was the first thing I finished and
now, I have a little more to show you.
I’m not sharing my sun room tonight, but soon!
Maybe this weekend?
I’ll start with my mantle since it was not complete yet in THIS post.
It’s a lot simpler then I’ve done in
previous years but I think I like it…
These colors are so fun!
It’s been years since I did a traditional Red & Green Christmas.
The Aqua & Lime just fit our home better.
I still love to see the classics though.
I didn’t really have a plan for the mantle this year.
It sort of fell together
and I didn’t hate it…
so it stayed.
A Thrifty Holiday Breakdown;
I bought the big frame around the wreath at Good Will (GW for the rest of the post) for $5 bucks. I wiped it down, gave it a light sand and painted it white.
I got the garland (brand new) at GW for $1.99 and added my own lights to it. The matching wreath was also new, and only $1.99 as well. The silver tinsel trees were all $2.99 each.
Tacky tinsel tree fix – I did not like the tacky plastic tree stands so I ripped them out of the base and hot glued them to these…
Cut crystal globes (for light fixtures). I had them on hand because they didn’t fit the lights I bought them for. I shopped without a tape measure. Whoops!
I Added A Few Hand Glittered Dollar Store Pine Cones
And A Bottle Brush Tree To Some Jars I Had On Hand.
-Very Simple-
For me anyway!
It’s officially the holiday season now
so I can start saying
~*~ MERRY CHRISTMAS ~*~

Simply lovely! How lucky were to get all of that good stuff at GW for next to nothing! And you what? No one would ever know that is where you shopped! Can’t wait to see the rest!
