Hey Foxy Friends! I crafted. And it was really FUN.
Come see my Martha Stewart Spooky Glam Halloween Decoupage Craft!
I’m really a simple crafter and I have to say, the new Martha Stewart Decoupage collection could not have been any more user friendly. Even for a cheaty, lazy crafter like me! Martha is definitely my go-to girl for craft supplies. Her stuff is just nice. You always know it’s going to be good quality, no matter what it is. This lived up for sure! The new line is now at Michael’s. The papers are the perfect weight and thickness. Just thick enough to be manipulated, but thin enough to lay down and conform to your surface. Come see what I made in a really short time! And with no frustration.
I started with some coppery-gold matte metallic nesting boxes from Ikea. They came in a set of 12 a few years ago. I don’t know the exact cost, but cheap I imagine, it’s from Ikea! My MIL has the rest, she let me steal these for my craft when I spied them. I thought they would be great with a little spookafication.
And these are the craft supplies I got to experiment with!!!!
So many choices! I wanted to try the papers and the little pre cut decoupage shapes the most, so I started off just fiddling around.. setting different paper punch outs on top of the boxes until I had a grouping I liked. I sort of dry fit them, laying them out to see what fit where best before I even opened my decoupage medium.
These are pop outs guys! Yeah. I know. No little tiny nubs to trim off. They look like that right after you pop them out of the sheet they come on. See? That’s Martha. I’m telling you… that lady knows her stuff.
I used the durable matte finish decoupage since my boxes had a matte finish.
I brushed some on the back sides if the shapes them laid them on the box tops, and covered with another thin layer of decoupage.
After I had my tops decorated I cut some papers to wrap the sides of the boxes with too!
I did the same application process for those papers too.
A little decoupage on the back, lay it on, line it up and add a thin layer on top to seal it in place.
I mixed it up and added washi tape the the middle sized box.
I got some Metallic Sharpies a few weeks ago and I busted those out too!
They were just right for adding a little extra dimension.
I wish you could see it better!
The witches dress has a bead of black glitter paint along the hem.
And don’t forget my Halloween fav, steel wool.
It looks like spooky dead bushes in front of the haunted house right?
(Just nod your head and tell me yes.)
This was so relaxing! I really enjoyed just getting to make something fun and silly.
I’ll probably fill them with candy or cookies and give them away as gifts.
Hope your Fall is shaping up just fine and you’re starting to get into the Halloween Spirit. The Halloween season, trick-or-treating and dressing up is such a fun time of year!!

Adorable! Oh, and the steel wool . . . aack! Brilliant. I’ve been a spanish moss gal for spooky spaces but I like the metallic twist. 🙂
Thanks sweetie! I like sparkly stuff 😉
I’m sure I used it because I could not find my Spanish Moss at some point the first time. LOL!!
This turned out awesome! Great job! Those pop-outs look like fun. So cute!
These boxes are so stinking cute! I love how versatile they can be!
These came out awesome 🙂 I’ve seen your sneak peeks on instagram. Nice job! I love the decoupage papers you got!

I love these boxes! What a creative way to use the papers from the materials kit. Happy Halloween!
Shannon I LOVE, LOVE these! I’m a simple crafter too (that’s putting it nicely) and I like when I see a craft that I would actually attempt. I think I could do this! Thanks for sharing…hope all is well with you. <3
These are just the cutest Shannon! I love the gold..perfect with all your new gold accents.
These turnd out GREAT, Shannon!! What a fun bunch of supplies too – wowza! Pinning! xo
I’m loving the gold…and rethinking my prior “aversion” to all things “warm toned metallic”…those boxes are adorable…especially the haunted house with the steel wool (honestly, girl, you think of EVERYTHING) bushes! xo
Oh yeah baby. Gold fever over here. I like the mix though. And not brassy of harsh. The soft pale golds, and deep rich golds are my favorite. They would look beautimous in the new house!!
I adore them! And…they match all of your beautiful new gold! Those papers look amazing!!!
super duper cute, love those MS images!!
Shannon, this boxes looks so beautiful!! Love it! Great job!
Have a lovely day!
