Merry Christmas Eve from Fox Hollow
A frosty, snowy Merry Christmas Eve to you!
I braved the “weather” to share our holiday porch with you.
Wow. It’s really coming down. hehe
I wish! Just having a little silly Christmas photo fun. No snow here.
It’s been clear as a bell here. We have even had some sun. Which is quite boring actually, but great for getting a few last minute things done around the house before our bad weather really does hit. We’ll have rain, rain and more rain soon. Saturday was the perfect day to freshen up the front of the house and I was able to get the window trims and the front door freshly painted. It’s something I didn’t get to last Summer since we were focused on getting the wood flooring in. It feels much better now. I should have taken a before. Just picture a Summer of dirt, dust and bugs and you’ll get the idea. The front door takes a beating from the sun even though we don’t get blistering temps. We do get the strong, morning sun and between a few years of that, and taking it down to trim it to the proper level of the new floors, it was looking a bit bedraggled.
This is how the front of the house normally looks. it’s very simple. We have not allocated any funds for the hardscape and softscape makeover she needs but Jim and I have it all planned out. One day… I sure like my floors though!
Anyhow, everything is all freshened up now (insert yay here!) so I grabbed a few outdoor Christmas things to give the front of the house a pinch of Christmas spirit. I added a red berry and bay leaf wreath, and old window I painted and a few diy yard art stakes.
This is an old window that I added some craft paint too. I’m no artist, but you can tell it’s Frosty and that is good enough for me.
It’s so close to Christmas so I didn’t want to over do it and drag out too many things, especially since we are having guests for New Years Eve and I’ll be changing it up soon for that!! It looks pretty at night with all the icicle and snowflake lights we have hanging up. Those will stay up for the New Year’s Eve look I have planned and I’ll share that soon.
Wishing you all the merriest of holidays.
I really do so enjoy all the chatting and visiting and sharing we get to do and that you pop by to check in on what is going on here at the hollow. Remember to join me on the Fox Hollow Cottage facebook page where we really get to visit if you’d like to chat and hang out a bit. There are so many nice people there.
Lots of love to you all for a magnificent, magical Christmas.
Psst… I’m entertaining for New Year’s Eve and I’m sharing a sneak peek below of the simple diy art I made. I’ll be revealing the very inexpensive mantel the day after Christmas. I hope you can join me! Check my facebook page for a shopping list if you want to dive right in.
