The BIG Beast has been tamed
with LOTS of Creamy, White Paint!
* update 8/2013 All my photos disappeared from this post, so this is going to be the condensed version.
This set was bought at a local Church rummage sale for $150 and came with 3 pc’s. I decided to use the large, main unit to replace the TV cabinet we had in out upstairs living room for a few reasons.
And here they are now:
One, it’s bigger.
And everyone knows that BIGGER is BETTER.
Uh~Oh.
I did not mean that in a naughty way. Swear!!
No, REALLY.
If I meant it to be naughty, I would have added “LOL” after.
Two, it’s solid wood.
Three, and THE most important… The TV is now up high enough that we can sit at our dinning table and see the all important televison.
Woo Hoo. Mom gets a GOLD star!!
We Love Us Some CASH CAB at Dinner Time.
So, HERE IT IS!!!!
My New Baby…
My New Baby…
Now, I know White might not seem inspired… but it’s what I feel was the best choice for the room for a couple reasons.
I wanted something that could take a lot of decor changing. I love to switch out my accessories.
Often!
And I needed something that would be easy to work with.
And, as much as I like the look, I was afraid that staining and distressing would make the piece stand out too much, and it’s already very large.
Lastly, I wanted to stay fresh & light because living in Oregon, it can be rainy and grey for very long stretches…
I need to keep it as bright as possible so I don’t hibernate myself to death.
I almost forgot…
Bonus!!
The new unit has pocket doors that slide away.
I also ditched the stereo so no more ugly, black speakers. Yuck!
I love the hardware.
It really made the whole makeover!
I ordered these pretty Fleur de Lis knobs about a year ago for something else and never used them.
They just didn’t look right.
They must have know bigger & better things were coming there way!
The filigree knobs were a gift from my MIL.
She picked them up for me thinking I might find a use for them.
Her is so smart 😉
I brushed a little paint on them to tone them down and they were just right!
So, That’s It!
I love it.
The end.
