Outdoor In Spring Home Decor and Furniture Ideas
We are officially out of February, and Winter! But in Oregon, Spring is our wettest & wildest weather time of year. So while I might want to get my garden bench out and fire up the barbecue, it’s too soon. Instead, I’m sharing my outdoor-in Spring home decor and furniture ideas with you!
I’m planning, preparing and pretending.
This months Better Homes & Gardens focus is on all things outdoors, and I’m totally into it, so I just played indoors instead! It felt great to both peruse the online options, as well as visit my local store to see what was rolling in, and it got me really excited about this project and the upcoming warmer weather and longer days! The outdoor furniture selection is fantastic and there is something for everyone, from individual seating to full outdoor sectionals and dining sets. Which means that there is something to fit most budgets too! If you’re worried about the current situation of your outdoor garden furniture, this may be the perfect time to spice everything up.
I knew I was looking for versatility, and thought it would be fun to show how some of the outdoor seating slides right inside and looks super cute and chic! Like this one…
They have a very eclectic, kind of boho vibe. Don’t you think?
It’s called the Parisian Bistro Chair, and it looks like it’s only going to be available in-store so if you like it, run to Walmart. I have a feeling these are going to go quick, for a few reasons.
- I’ve seen these woven, bent wood style chairs and they are spendy! These are metal so will hold up outdoors, but they look like wood!
- They don’t require a cushion. Less to buy, less to maintain.
- They were only $44
- Plus… these have a big bonus – they stack!! So if you are challenged for storage space, these are extra perfect.
When the weather turns, I’ll put these down on The Little Cottage Porch to be enjoyed for the season. We always need more seating for BBQ’s and our big 4th of July bash.
I shared my Walmart garden department shopping trip with you guys on Instagram, so if you follow me there, you saw the great pot selection they just launched for this season. I liked how they included several different looks and styles. I urge you to visit your local store, I think you’ll be impressed (the prices were really reasonable too).
I got a variety, but the concrete look pots are my favorite! I really like the crackle band around the top.
I got a few sizes, and I grabbed the Elephant too. You guys know I love the animal stuff.
Did you know that Better Homes & Gardens has a whole new essential oils line? I’ve yet to light the Vetiver and Lemon candle, but I used my wax melts (in that scent) and they smell sooo yummy!! I got the Pineapple wax warmer, it’s so cute. I’ll try to snap a photo and show you. So far my favorite candle is the Geranium and Patchouli. Not surprising since I’ve been on a Geranium dish soap kick!!
Oh, I also got a wee little Flamingo pot (only $1.44!) and I got a $1 Hyacinth to put in it. You can spy it if you squint hard at the photo above. That smell is so divine, it’s already in bloom now since I took these pictures. For under $3.00 these would make super cute little “I was thinking of you” gifts too! What a way to bring a bit of sunshine inside, even on the dreariest day! Better Homes & Gardens even has there own branded potting soil, which I tried. Everything is doing wonderfully so it’s passing my test.
I know many of you still have snow on the ground and will be getting more, or might live where it takes the nice weather just a bit longer to arrive. I can’t encourage you enough to get some potting soil and get your hands dirty potting a few fresh additions to your home. It’ll feel so good!! And the wait will feel much less confining. Trust me. I know. Sometimes our nice weather doesn’t arrive until well, well into Summer.
My poor Angel Vines have surpassed their year of life and are starting to go downhill, so I’m extra glad to have the other houseplants to add some green to the house.
And a new pillow.
Wherever you are, I hope the weather is treating you kindly! Summer and Fall are the best times of year hear weather-wise, and make all the rain and gloom worth it. Mostly.
As always, thank you for joining me on my home adventures. I love it when you share your homes and projects with me too! Please join our friendly community on Facebook for live videos, casual chats, and to share your images with me. xo Shannon
I sincerely enjoy the opportunity to share how I use the Better Homes & Gardens line from Walmart in our home with you! It’s important to me that this line fits most of our budgets and we can all feel inspired by the great design and affordable prices. Some of the links to the products and items I used are affiliate links. That means I may make a very small commission if you choose to buy something, but you’ll never pay a penny more for it.

I love the bistro chairs and the light fixtures. Amazing post and you have decorated all the things in very managed way I love all the decoration. Thanks for sharing the ideas with us.
Shannon I love the whole darn look! Everything is gorgeous. I’m especially loving those cement planters and I want to make one of those white rustic trays for my outdoor coffee table. I love it! Beautiful inspiration!
Hi Susan! Those concrete pots are so cute!! I love how versatile they are, and so far everything we’ve planted in them looks great in them.
Can you tell me one more time where you got your rug?
I can 🙂 You can find it online here: https://amzn.to/2GHb930 affiliate link And they have the braided one at RugsUSA too.
Is the elephant from Walmart? I’ve looked online and at two stores in S. Florida and my mom has looked at two stores in Tennessee and can’t find it!! Thanks!
YES 🙂 It’s from the garden department, where all the pots are. It’s in-store only as far as I know.
If it becomes available online I will share the link!!
Love it all! I bought a couple of those bistro chairs for my niece and they are stylish and comfortable!
Debbie
They are really cute, and I love that they stack, and don’t need cushions. Lucky niece!!
A great value & stylish for sure 🙂
it all looks so beautiful and so much inspiration! I love the chair especially!
Thanks Kellie.
BTW, I am LOVING all your projects you are completing.
So much gorgeous decor.
I just adore what you have done here, Shannon! Those bistro chairs are a perfect fit at your table. And the elephant is adorable!!! No wonder you couldn’t resist him! Will definitely look for those chairs at our local store.
Thanks sweet Jane!!
I am SUCH a sucker for the animal stuff… I just love it.
Happy Spring.
Those chairs are wonderful! Just love the versatility of them. Will definitely have to check them out…Happy Spring Shannon!
And happy springtime to you! So glad your mom is doing better. She is an absolute inspiration!!
I live in North Florida and we are already having mid-80’s. Pollen has turned EVERYTHING yellowish green. I clean the furniture on the screen porch and before I finish it’s covered again – so I’ll wait a few days and try again. We’re supposed to have temperatures back down in the 70’s this week. We will enjoy this last taste of Spring as we won’t see them again until Thanksgiving!
Carol, I’ve got friends in the South and in FL and they all talk about that crazy pollen. Sounds like our Pine needles here in the PNW. They are everywhere.
Hope you get a respite before it gets really hot!
I love your light fixture! Can I ask where you purchased it?
I’ve had it about 15-16 years… I got it at a little boutique in Southern California.
I’ll see if I can find something similar to share a link 😉
Love this all! Would love to have one of those chairs, but our store does not always have everything–all Wal Marts are not “created equal” as I learned long ago. The flower pots look interesting, too, and of course “my lantern” ? on the table! I truly can’t wait to be outdoors!!
If they become available online, I’ll make sure to share that information. Some stores get things in, in stages as well. So keep checking.
Oh, and will your Walmarts do inter store transfers? Might get them that way!! I’m ready for sun, but I have to be patient.
saw those cute bistro chairs the other day. super cute.
What? You didn’t need them for Chez’ Resort Janning? hehe
