Reclaimed Pallet Wood Wedding Date Sign
Eek!!! It’s T-minus 6 days till… the Bridal Shower.
I’m hosting, so I am really getting a little nervous that I’ve got everything handled.
I wanted to share this pallet wood sign that we made for J real quick , then it’s back to my to-do list.
I am pretty sure she’ll love it since she pinned a similar sign to her wedding board. Twice. The fact that it’s wooden and rustic will remind her of the beautiful woodland wedding she had!
You can see the inspiration piece of pallet art from Sweet Rose Studio HERE.
Gotta Love Pinterest. It was great to gauge the look and style of the shower by her pinning taste!
Even though she said I could do whatever I wanted, I of course what her to like it.
(and loving it would be ever better!)
Thank goodness my girl like aqua too. Whew. lol
Big props, as always to my personal Bob The Builder, Mr Foxy.
I dry fit all the boards just so, and he put it together. Team work for the win!
I can’t believe the little girl who stood in my living room, popping bubbles… is getting married.
How on earth can this be?
I do know that if she works as hard at being married, as she has a being a fantastic human being and student, that J & E will have a long, happy marriage!!!!
(I hope to twist her arm for permission to share some photos with you!!)
I better get back to that to-do list now, it’s not getting any shorter.
PS: If you have any questions about how I made the Reclaimed Pallet Wood Wedding Date Sign, please leave a comment and I’ll answer ASAP (:

Hey Shannon! Have been collecting ideas for the construction of these pallet pieces and wondering how heavy yours is? Crazy heavy? Or kinda heavy? Might be a non-started for us if it weighs a ton. 🙂 Thanks!! Charlotte

It’s pretty chunky. About 10-12 lbs? Hope that helps!

Just wondering if you freehanded the letters on the sign? Its super cute!!
Shannon at Fox Hollow Cottage says
Thanks so much!! Yes, I did. I wrote it in pencil, then used that as a guide and painted over it. The beauty of the rustic style, is that it did not have to be “perfect”. Whew! Good thing. {winks!}

Hey there! This is beautiful! Please tell me (when you get a moment :)) how you made this! (I mean, I can figure out the general idea, but any tips or notes would be much appreciated. Thinking of making something like this for my hubby for our 5-year anniversary. Plus, where did you get the pallet? Thanks!
Shannon at Fox Hollow Cottage says
Hi Amanda! Sure thing hun. We did the vertical boards in the front. Secured by to horizontal boards across the back, top and bottom. Screwed in. I hand painted everything else free hand. I used craft paint. And… I think that is it (: If you have any other question, I am happy to help!! So glad you liked it. The reveal to the bride is tomorrow!!!! (I’m excited)

I had not either! You know how we see so much and we want to try it all? I finally got to this. AND… Jim brought me about 5 more so I can make more. It was easy too. Very simple and just did it by hand. So easy to customize 🙂

Aww I love it. It is something that they will love being able to keep for a very long time!! I have a ton of pallets and lots of ideas that I just haven’t gotten to, but this is such a great idea 🙂

Yeah, she had it pinned a few times, so I felt it was a safe choice (: We’ve got more, and I’d love to make something for us too. Maybe next month? Or.. after the floors are put it!
