Shabby Home Decor DIY Distressed Candle Sticks
You Dragged It Behind Your Car? I’ll Take Three!
You know, I like things pretty knocked around…
It started when I ran across these great candle sticks for a song!
Well, great as a “befores” anyway. At least for me and my taste.
I knew I could diy them more to my liking.
So I did – Here is my simple makeover.
Each had lots of NOOKS & CRANNIES – Perfect for a paint makeover.
They each got a quick coat of paint. One more thorough than the other.
After, I beat the crap-o-la out of the tall one. For no particular reason.
Next I Sanded & Stained It – Here It Is Now.
Much better, but a little more Fall’ish with the warmer tones and the natural wood peeking through.
For the white candle stick, I wrapped some wide, subtle shimmery chiffon ribbon around a white candle, then layered it with a simple satin ribbon. (No worries! I don’t normally light it-and certainly not unattended)
This one was lightly painted so the black peeked out from under in the nooks and such.
I like it best, but don’t tell the tall one.

Those turned out great! Just got a couple more candle holders myself. One set is already a little shabby and the other set is ceramic. Not exactly up to shabification if ya know what I mean =)

Shannon I am a new blog follower. I love these. Best part thought is that you said you beat the crap-o-la out of them, made me laugh out loud. I say that too. On another note, congratulations on kicking butt on the Big C too. Smooches and happy weekend wishes.

@Laura…
Moring Laura!
How are ya girl. Did ya get that water heater? My wall color is cottonwood from WalMart in eggshell. It’s a perfect neutral. No pink, no green, maybe a little yellow undertone. This is the second house I’ve used it in. I am now in love with Benjamin Moore paint though, I would grab a chip from Wally and have it matched in Ben. Have a fab day 😉
