Shore Acres State Park at Simpsons Reef {a moment}
Jim and I decided to grab some dinner the other night and run out to Shore Acres to catch the sunset. We hit a few snags so I didn’t capture the fabulous snap of the sun going down that I was hoping for, but I did get this.
I’m sure my photography skills had nothing to do with it being meh. lol. I need to practice, and a long lens would probably help too but it was brilliant in person! A pink shock that went out with a bang. We are incredibly blessed to live here in the Pacific North West where we are pretty much surrounded by splendor at every turn.
I am so glad we stole a small moment. Life is busy and it just goes by too darn fast. It wasn’t fancy, nor expensive but we got to spend some quiet time together. We always talk so much when we are in the car, so it was perfect. No TV, phone, internet… Just us. I made sure to spend less then 2 minutes snapping the pictures too. {winks}
The other sight out at Simpsons Reef is the Sea Lions that reside there 365 days a year. You can hear them before you see them and when you do, they are a sight! I never tire of the majesty you find in nature. It’s really powerful to see and hear these Sea Lions, but odd how small they look from the view point since they are massive up close.
I just wanted to share these few pictures I was able to get. Hope you are having a great day!! If you ever get a chance to visit the Oregon Coast, make sure to stop by Shore Acres State Park.
If you visit during the holidays, you are in for a treat. There is a Christmas light display that is one of a kind and live music on some nights too!! Austin and the band have played out there and it’s wonderful to hear.
It just feels so Christmas-y!!

Just beautiful, my friend. So nice to enjoy life’s little moments unfettered by emails, social media, deadlines, etc.
Pinnning this to my “Places To Go” board. I have been to Portland a few times but I clearly need to spend more time and check out the coast on my next visit! xoxo

I have never made it out to see the seals & it is on my bucket list of things to see/do. This just looks so beautiful! Isn’t it wonderful to take much needed unplugged time to spend with your love!?! We don’t do it often enough, but we are making an effort to do so…life is short! XOXO my friend!
