Simple 4th of July Table Decorating Ideas
Hello-hello my Foxy friends!! If you caught my Facebook live yesterday, you saw all the Dollar Tree goodies I picked up with my mom when she was here visiting, spread out on the farm table! I thought it would be fun to show you what I had to work with, and also, to invite you to join-in and decorate too. I’ll make sure to share this post over on my Fox Hollow Cottage Facebook page, and it you’ve got some red, white & blue decor going on at your place, you can share too by adding your photo in the comment section!! We’ll have ourselves a patriotic party.
I got busy after giving you guys a peek, and this is what I came up with…
Welcome to our Patriotic Holiday Home
Actually, I’ve only decorated the table… but because this space is open to the entire upper floor, it feels like the whole house is decorated. What a bonus!!
The glass bottles, with Hydrangea stems (lucky me, I had exactly three!) and the sunshine streaming in were magic. I’m not even going to tell you how many pictures I took…
Okay, I took about 150.
I’m not even exaggerating. I take soooo many pictures!! I mainly do that so that I can pick the very, very best ones to share with you. I’m not the most talented photographer ever, but I try my best.
Okay, back to the table.
The settings are really simple. I used the Dollar Tree place-mats, and layered then with a plate, napkin and bowl.
I ended up using the tiny metal buckets inside the bowls, and I snipped a bit of garland and popped that inside.
It kind of looks like a firework! Isn’t that so cute?
The ‘napkins’ are actually 2 thin dish towels. I just cut them in half and they worked perfect.
I already had the white Dollar Tree plates, and the bowls are from Walmart.
The wooden table runner is just an old piece of scrap wood I sanded super-smooth and painted.
I’m a creature of habit and I definitely have my favorite decorating elements. Like lanterns. I love them on the table, so I used these wooden-slatted cuties and added the red, white and blue Dollar Tree candles.
This was so enjoyable to do!
No deadline, no pressure… it was a ‘just because I wanted to’ kind of project.
I’m hoping to take a breather from any big DIY projects this Summer now that the Little Cottage Living Room is done. At least phase one anyhow. I want to enjoy some of our short-lived nice weather!
Like I said when we chatted on Facebook, I’m a sucker for those paper straws! They are so dang cute, I think I buy them every time I see them.
And when they are a dollar each, you buy all three patterns.
No hard choices there. haha
These are like little happy firecrackers!!
Do you have big plans this weekend?
We are celebrating the 4th with a big BBQ on Saturday with our family.
I’ll be serving a signature cocktail for the party, and I’ll try to share it with you real soon. For sure before Summer is over.
It’s soooo yummy! You can easily make it with or without alcohol too.
To complete the table, I ended up using $17 worth of Dollar Store goods, and I had everything else right here at home already. Not too bad!
Admittedly, I got carried away with the pictures. I’ll blame it on the sunshine…
Thanks for humoring me!! xo Shannon
PS: It’s getting really late, so I didn’t add a “source list” like usual, but I’m happy to answer any questions you may have in the comments!!
