Okay now, down to the fun!! If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know I drove up to Eugene last week to go get my shop on. It’s 2 hours each way, but it’s HomeGoods, so I happily make the trip!! It happened to be a stunning day and I had a beautiful drive both up and back. The in between part was pretty good too. It was totally ZEN just getting to cruise the store without feeling like I had to hurry. I explored every nook and cranny. Shopping is so relaxing for me I love just looking to see what’s new. It really gets me inspired.
Fast forward to a few hours later (I strolled) and without even realizing it, no item I selected was over $25. I love that!! It’s so great knowing that when I shop HomeGoods I can find fresh, fun things that are within my budget comfort zone. Because who wants to walk out empty handed? Not me!!
I’m still getting the feel for our new floors, and the day after my shopping trip, I got busy moving a few things around and had some fun! My farm table was replaced with a chair and side table I stole from other rooms in our home. I decided I wanted to create a little reading spot in front of the fireplace. With the weather changing, I thought it would be perfect.
After my furniture was situated, I layered on some of my new goodies. The Cynthia Rowley throw made my chair soft, snuggly and beautiful all on one fell swoop!
The pewter, matte sequin pillow basically jumped in my cart. Gosh, I love sparkle. It just gets me every time.
It found it’s spot right away. I adore it there.
Mmm… Shimmer & Shine. Under $20. I say Yes!
I always admire lanterns when I see them used in home decorating yet I had never bought one for myself. I was pleasantly surprised to find the selection at Homegoods was priced really well. For some reason, I thought they were much more expensive!?
I know right!! The lantern on the left was $24.99 and the shorter version, with the battery operated candle was only $16.99. What? Those candles can run $10 alone. What a great deal. So I bought both.
Don’t you love how we rationalize? I’m quite accomplished at it.
While there was an amazing selection of glass ware, vases and beautiful decor… I was drawn to the color and finish of this Nicole Miller trash can. I know. I’m so weird! But don’t my Fall branches look pretty in it?
It fed my little GOLD addiction I’ve developed too. So that was cool.
Again, under 25 bucks! For Nicole Miller.
I really like to layer up and mix metals and textures, so I popped it in a galvanized look metal basket with rope handles. Then I added a gold frame I picked up in a swirl design to amp up the interest. The frame almost looks like it’s moving!
I’m pretty sure we all love just about anything “mercury glass”. I know I do. When I saw this tall, coppery piece I knew that could be really fun when I pull my big copper pots out for Halloween!
I was surprised how seamlessly it melted into the vignette on my side table though and I was extra glad I got it. The deep pewter of the shorter piece was a perfect compliment to the sequined pillow I picked up. Both pieces really balanced the room out nicely. Plus, we live on the coast so the slightly nautical nod that the rope adds fit right in!
A Recent Survey Found Small Décor Changes in Your Home Can Affect Your Mood!
“Updating your home’s décor doesn’t have to be complicated. Easy, decorative changes that speak to personal style, like adding colorful pillows or a graphic rug, may be all you need to refresh your home and ultimately make you feel happier in your space,” says interior designer and TV personality Genevieve Gorder.
I can definitely say I agree with that. About a zillion percent.
I know my space feels completely different to me now with just the few small changes I made. It really has a different vibe, and when I walk in the front door I feel like I’m in a “grown ups” house. But it’s mine! And it makes me happy.
Now, let’s get you happy!!!!

The last time I shopped at Home Goods I was still single, and a decorator. I love their seasonal accessories!

I would have to drive more than two hours to get a Home Goods store, but I am game!!! Love all of your finds, but I could really use one of the lanterns. See them everywhere in photos, but still don’t have one. I think they are becoming the new decorating necessity!
Kim C. says
I love all my finds from Home Goods so one of my favorites would be a pair of laundry baskets I recently purchased.

It’s so hard to narrow down, I’ve gotten some great pillows and lamps there, but I think I’d have to say my porcelain garden stool is my favorite. They were well over $100 elsewhere and I got mine at Home Goods for around $40. I just love it!!

How can you pick a favorite? I love all of the bright colors! I really like the storage section. I could spend days looking at all of the wonderful things there. Thanks for sharing, and good luck to everyone who enters!

I absolutely love the items you chose, Shannon. Mixed metals look so, so good together and bring such a touch of class to a room.
My favorite HomeGoods find? I love the soft, plush blankets they have…I’ve got a few of them and they are our favorite thing to snuggle up under.

HaHaHa!
I love me some GLITTER.
That was the first thing I zeroed in on. I took a chance and bought a different color too. I’m trying to stretch.
They had it in a seafoam aqua that was to die for.
