Spring Show Recap and Some News!
HELLO!
Yes, I’m yelling.
I miss you guys.
The Spring 2015 Marshfield Vintage Market was a great success for all involved. I think everyone walked away with something, or a variety of “somethings”, and the vendors were happy to have their offerings so well received!
My somethings were the ka-ute pink business card holder, and the sheep! Oh my gosh… that little sucker caught my eye and I HAD to have it. I don’t know what it is about little animal things… but they suck me in.
Jim and I found this really cool little secretary cabinet on our 4-day “I got sick and it turned into and overnight weekend getaway trip”.
Ugh, that was the worst!!
Anyhoo… I got a great piece out of it, and my mom and I took it from black to white, then Jimmy made me a chalkboard back and framed it out for me. I love it, and it worked so well!! I had someplace for all the little things I needed to check people out.
The only downside?
Everyone wanted to buy it. hahaha.
This event was a super-big group effort for our whole family. Jimmy was so busy working up to the event making things, Austin dis-assembled pallets for us (which we love working with!), and my mom came up from California and helped me with just… so much!
We all worked together getting everything over to the venue, setting-up, and then breaking down and getting the bits&pieces back home.
These are all iphone pics, taken on the run, but you get the idea.
This beauty would never-ever have been at the market if I had a spot for it.
My loss for sure!!
Jim and I married a vintage door to a vintage table and it’s vintage magic! I adoor this so, so much.
I added a authentically vintage glass knob I salvaged off and old furniture piece and it’s perfection. (it was camera shy)
Oh, and if you are wondering, I used Maison Blanche’s La Chaux French Lime Paint on it… and it feels like buttah. But with texture & layers & oomph. You can’t see it in this picture, but I highly recommend.
The color is Marzipan.
Marzipan… I just love saying it.
I’m so glad my signs were a good seller, because I LOVE making them so much. I definitely need an outlet for making them and the shows have given me such an opportunity to make more than I would ever need for myself!
But I should probably make two of everything just in case right?
You might recognize the table…
Yep, I sold my Attic Heirloom’s by Broyhill dining room set, and the buffet too. (which you never saw, because it lived in the walk-out basement level of our home!) I’ve got plans, and it went to a new, loving home. Where it’ll be used and loved as it should be!
– The great thing about this venue was better parking and more room.
– The not so great, was that everyone missed the hardwood floors from the last venue. Oh my… they really set a stage for our things.
Oh, and no worries about me selling my Paris lamps! I’ve got two sets. {wink}
One for me… one to sell.
I love that system.
I know I shared a peek at the farmhouse benches we made on Instagram, but I thought I would share those here too. These were fun as well and I did them in aqua, white, we added grain-sack’esque stripes, laurel accents… so fun!!
(you can spy a laurel accented bench below)
And more goodies!
I think it might be a little bit dangerous to love everything you sell?
Do you ever not sell something, and secretly sigh a little exhale of relief?
That was me with my birdhouse.
It has been y e a r s since I made one… and I don’t think I was quite ready to let this one go.
Which worked out great, since no one wanted to buy it!
We are already planning for the next show, and I’ve even already got some new things!!!!
My fun “News” is
… that I will be traveling to the SOUTH!
To Mobile Alabama to be exact.
I’m heading South for the first time, after being a Pacific Coast hugger my whole life. I’ve been all the way down to Mexico, all the way up to Canada… over to Hawaii… but I never seem to head inland. I am so stinking excited!!!!
I’m fixing to brush up on my “yes and no ma’am & sir’s” and the “y’all” that I have picked up through blogging osmosis should come in real handy!
I’ll tell you more about the exact why, and where I’ll be traveling next week in more detail!! My mom is still here and I want to spend some quality time with her. I know you understand all about that. I promise to be back in the swing again soon. And I’ve not forgotten about wrapping up my story. What is sort of funny, is that this trip spurned me to write about and share my story in the first place! When I wrap-up, you’ll understand why. (I think) haha.
I’ll be sharing the entire trip as I go via Instagram. I hope you will follow along. I get a little nervous to fly, and it’s going to be a long trip!
I’ll need some support.
I better scoot… there is so much to do before I get ready to leave.
Hope you are all doing wonderful & well!!!!
xoxo, Shannon
So glad the market was great for you. Looks wonderful from the pics. Can’t wait to hear more about your upcoming trip south. How exciting!
I’m really excited to share it all!! I know I will be going a little over gram crazy on Instagram. (blogging when I return home)
Shannon,
What in the world is bringing you to Mobile? I live here in Mobile and would love to meet up with you while you are here and show you some true SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY. Congrats on having a great show.
Blessings,

LINDA! I wish I could take you up on that!! It is going to be a whirlwind trip in and out. I’ll be giving the details next week. Still trying to get everything sorted out and recover from the show!!
You will love the Gulf Coast…the beaches are gorgeous and the people are friendly! I lived in Birmingham most of my life (up until 4 years ago) and that area was our local vacation spot! And definitely use the yes ma’am, no ma’am and y’all….LOL Add about 5 syllables to y’all and you will fit right in! 🙂 Make sure to say that something looks …reeeaaalll niiiccceee and say Bless Your Heart when someone is telling you their woes. 🙂 LOVE the signs and white suitcase. Gave me an idea to paint mine! Have a great one!!
I took notes :) I love the reeeaalll niiicceee 🙂 I can hear you saying it in my head!! lol. Two thumbs up on that one!! xoxo
Glad your market went well–now go spend time with your mom!!!
Thanks!!!! xo
A door + a table; now I know you adoor it, but I think it’s adoor-able.
I stand corrected ;0)
Adoor-able it is!
So exciting! all the way around. I can’t wait to hear all about your BAMA trip! You are going to love the South and totally understand why us Southerners (transplant/halfback in my case) love it so much too!
I can’t wait to hear about Clemson!!
I’m glad that the market was a success….but then I knew that it would be because the things that you create are darrrr-LING! Can’t wait to hear all about your trip. I hope that you have fun with your mom. Happy Easter, sweet friend. xx, Kimberly
Happy Easter dear. Have a blessed and wonderful weekend!! Will tell all I can this week 🙂
