Sunday I said goodbye to my dad after a two month visit. I think he had a nice stay, and was happy to be spoiled a little. But after 8 weeks, he was both eager to get home, and sad to leave. We also christened the deck, safely celebrated my great nieces 2nd birthday.
About the deck & pergola… I know I had promised not to just spring a deck reveal on you all… but life happened and I wasn’t always able to document every step, as I was otherwise engaged or working on projects of my own. There just never seems to be enough time in the day. In fact, I’m hoping I can squeeze that in amongst getting all my holiday posts completed, which is definitely more seasonally relevant for you all than seeing my deck!
Monday, I admit I was happily LAZY! After hosting company for 2 months, I paused to catch my breath a bit, only doing a bit of laundry, and a lot of TV watching. I finished up season nine of Call The Midwife. Have you watched? It’s the sweetest, most heartstring pulling show. I just love it! There is something about that time in history, and they tell the stories so, so very well!
I hope you all kicked off your week well. I’m ready to positively pounce on Christmas this week, and I’ll have holiday goodies to share soon!! xo Shan

Time goes by so fast, it seems just yesterday you said you were expecting your Dad to visit. I love company too but when they leave it is both sad and exhausting. Time to relax.
