Styling Open Kitchen Cabinets
Today, I’m Sharing How I Styled Our Open Kitchen Cabinets… On A Budget!
Last week, I shared my newly naked cabinets.
{we ditched the glass front doors}

mini-makeover and how we got
I even spilled my “cheap secret”.
If you are a regular reader, you know I like… What?
Cheap & Easy!
Yep, that’s me 😉
I used Dollar Tree shelf liner
to freshen up the cabinet backs!
I got a lot of really nice comments on this little project, and those comments sure are nice to hear.
Thank you so much for that!!
But a few were from people who felt like they couldn’t get this type of look in their home.
To which I immediately wanted to respond with;
“Yes you can!”
But instead of telling you.
I am going to show you.
Here is the break down of my shelf contents;
1. Sugar Bowl, Ross. $2.99
2. Creamer Pitcher, Ross. $2.99
3. Vintage Flower Vase, Gift.
4a. Plate, Ross. $1.99
4b. Plate, Ross. $1.99

19. French Butter Keeper, Tag Sale. $2.00
20. Rhinestone Tea Pot, Ross. $12.99
See? Not one expensive item – Mostly discount and thrift store finds.
So, approximately $150~ for 6 shelves full of kitchen and decor items. Many of which are functional items we actually use, as well as decor I move around. Here on these shelves, in the kitchen and on the bar in the sun room.
Keep in mind too, that a lot of this has been gathered over time.
And you might notice, I buy white again and again.
I do that because it does not have to match in pattern, or even in style, but you can place it together,
and it always works.
Which worked out great, because I didn’t buy anything new to fill these shelves when I took the doors off.
I hope this was useful information.
I was happy to break it all down and share what it cost to get the “look”.

Thanks for the great post. I am alot like you as I am forever trying to decorate in a bargain fashion. So many of my treasures are found at a yard sale or thrift shop, or even the dollar store. These shelves are done up lovely.

Yep-You GOT is, sister. You know there are people that spend a fortune and can’t get “the look”. You just have the innate sense of how to put tings together and have it look great. Some people have it-some don’t.Honey, you GOT it! xo Diana

Love hearing the low-down (or is it the down-low?? – my kids are looking at me blankly!). I haven’t been in a Ross in a while, so thanks for that reminder!
Anyhoo, hoping you have a delicious Mother’s Day, Shannon ~

You did a beautiful job setting up this cabinet, Shannon! I love white pieces, too, because I can buy whatever I see for a steal and know it will go with my other whites.
