Valentines Day Cottage Style Home Decorating
Today, is all about compromises.
You see, my Apothecary cabinet is in the sun room.
Where it can see the fence board counter, which created a problem.
It got jealous it wasn’t decorated for Valentine’s Day.
I’m not unreasonable. I get that.
But I’m busy.. and I told it I was not going all out!
Plus, the boys might call for mutiny if I put any more pink in the house!
So we negotiated and agreed on adding a little red.
The compromise.
The bunny got a red velvet flocked heart…
He is looking dashing next to the rustic crate Jimmy made.
Cookie cutters were enlisted to hold red&white gingham checked ribbon … and Christmas ribbons, well they got a stay of execution. Being able to add a few dashes of red and having it feel like V-day is just one of the many reasons I love all my white wear I’ve collected and picked up! Much of it from my favorite location for affordable finds, HomeGoods!
The Burlap Heart Banner was called back to into action.
I tied it to the little drawer pulls and called it good!
While the Be Mine pillow defected from the living room, and took up with the Nicole Miller throw.
(girls… there is whispering going on all over here!)
Mostly though, I think everyone is happy now, and I can get back to organizing my kitchen.. while my head is working out the details for the wall treatment I want to do in our bedroom.
Quick, easy, splashes of red… and all is well.

Yeah, click here to see that one. {winks}
That’s it for V-day here at the hollow this year! No mantel. It’s not Christmas after all.
Plus, the living room might get it’s panties in a bunch, and I am not opening that can of worms.
We all know how living rooms can be. Pfft.

Hi!
Did you change the format on your page in the last month or so? It looks like square tiles and I have to find desktop view to see it nicely. Fyi
Are you viewing it on your mobile and each post is a square before opening, or it’s looking like a square on your desktop straight off? Thanks, will address upon response 🙂 Shannon
Looks like squares right away I’m my iPad. Until I clivk desktop view. Hope that helps. Xoxo
I hate when my furniture gets green with envy – and when boys in the house hate pink! Makes me want to get some hearts up in my house – or at least a big bowl of conversation hearts!
Lol, compromise. Well , I like the compromise. The sunroom complements your indoor vintage valentine decor so well.
haha 😉 Thanks! it was feeling a little lopsided in there.
