Hi there! I’m Shayna from The Wood Grain Cottage and I’m back to share something new!
A few weeks ago, I went on a little shopping trip to one of our new, once a month, antique/ home sales. This place was full of awesome goodies. I was excited from the second I walked into the little store. And on the back wall sat the most amazing hutch… I must have walked by it 30 times…. and each time I did, I’d open the drawers and doors and I loved it a little bit more…
After a little bit of negotiating, I was able to proudly say that it was mine!
And as soon as we got it unloaded from the truck, it went right into the breakfast nook…
I’m absolutely in love with the curved drawers on the top and bottom…
And I’d be silly if I didn’t mention how great it looks with ironstone…
Or that stunning hardware…
My, oh my!
It’s rich with history, and I absolutely love that…
And it’s in phenomenal shape! It’s previous owners definitely loved it… and so do it’s current owners! 😀
Below I’m sharing a few projects from The Wood Grain Cottage that we love too!
Until next time… You can find me on Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter!
And be sure to stop by The Wood Grain Cottage to say hi! Have a wonderful day!
Vintage Farmhouse Find {treasure hunting with The Wood Grain Cottage}
I really enjoy getting to see Shayna’s place evolve over the years as she and her husband complete projects and find new treasures, like this vintage baking cupboard! They are creating such a warm, comfortable home with a real Farmhouse flavor. Which is fitting.. since they live on a real, working farm! SIGH! Beauty to me!!!!
I know Yvonne! She has got style and luck I tell ya 😉
That hutch is gorgeous! And all of the decor works so well together.
It does.
She decorates so beautifully.
Oh! You got a good one! Dang! It’s beautiful.
Isn’t it a looker!!?
I cannot believe how much the hutch matches your table and chairs! Are you sure this is not a Hoosier Cabinet? Being from Southern Indiana, I’ve seen a few of these and this looks like one. The bin on the bottom held flour, and you rolled out the dough on the wood plank that you pull out above the bin. They usually had an area that held spices inside an upper door. Does yours have that? You might google Hoosier Cabinet to see how much yours is like their description.
I think so too Donna. It’s a baking cupboard for sure. Don’t you love those flour bins!? I’ll let Shayna know to take a peek. Good eye 🙂
