Winter At The Cottage
In case you haven’t noticed yet… I’m not “one of those” bloggers.
You know. Those kind of bloggers that are super organized, have editorial calendars, and share just the right things at just the right time. (Yay for you if you are one. I’m impressed and in awe of you!) I just can’t seem to manage that.
When I do share projects, and you guys graciously give praise and comments… and I write back that I’m just like you, and I know you can do it! I mean it. I am just like you. I’m running to keep up, I’ve got messes, we have family dramas and emergencies… things that break, and projects that have bumps. LOL!!
Speaking of bumps… I’ve had a few bumps in 2016 with the blog being “broken” (all fixed now!) and I know I’ve been a bit absent, what with traveling to see family and this & that. I’ve wanted to share our Winter living room since I popped it together and Jimmy made the new coffee table for me, but my days just keep slipping away!! I caught you up on the new workshop [click here] and now, I’d love to share our new table design and our living room with you!!
It all started with Jimmy making a coffee table for his sister, just working from scratch and putting something together. I thought it was great so he made me one too!
I shared it on Instagram immediately but it took a little longer to get proper photos and write to y’all about it. I admit, I’m so spoiled getting to share quickly on Instagram! I think I should make myself wait so I blog it properly and share here first.
Look for baskets with a really tight weave on the bottom, they are wonderful side tables. I love them as a dual-use item! I think this one, flipped upside down, makes a great little perch for my birdhouse.
I have a thing for these old wire baskets! I picked up a stack of them in a dirty, old garage during an estate sale. I’m like night and day. I am forever drawn to either the grungiest things ever, or the most expensive in the store?
Of course I have “coffee table books” but they aren’t on my coffee table. I’m such a rebel. I enjoy leafing through them in the evening when I’ve got a few minutes to relax. I particularity enjoy these two!

Everything is very light right now… I’m poised, holding my breath… and anticipating Spring
I couldn’t resist grabbing this odd bit of live edge maple.
I think we decided we would call them candle coasters.
Don’t anyone steal my idea before I can patent that okay? I’m sure a piece of scrap wood is patent-able….
It really is pretty.
I know you need one 😉
I promise to be back again sooner, rather than later!! Take care now. xoxo Shannon

I’m sure it “is” patent-able … after all, they just announced this morning on GMA that a plant is, so why not scrap wood? Better hurry! 😉
I love your Winter look … your gorgeous mantel … and all of your beautiful vignettes! I’d love to find a few of those metal baskets. And, that table …. !!!

I’ll put it on my to-do list Becca.
Maybe we’ll get rich?
hehe
Hope you are having a great February!!

I looked at that piece of wood. And it looks just like a turtle ! See its face ? It’s eye on the right and its nose looking straight ahead. ? Too cute. Guess it’s just me ? HUN ?
