Hello! My name is Andrea from the blog Pine and Prospect Home, and I am so excited and honored to be here sharing our summer home tour on Shannon’s blog!
Pine And Prospect Home – English Cottage Summer Tour
Our house was built in the 1930’s and it’s a Tudor Revival or English Cottage style home. A lot of my inspiration for how I decorate the inside of my home comes from the outside architecture.

The round door, the sloped roofline, the stone surrounding the porch – all of these elements to me just epitomize English Cottage style. In the last 7 years since purchasing our home, I have tried to create that same charm on the inside of our home as well.

Summer is my favorite time of year both inside and outside of our home. Pops of green stems here and there are really all I use to make our home feel like summertime! Let’s take a look inside…

The first room that you enter as you walk into our home is the entryway. We have done so much work in this space! We ripped out all of the water damaged wood flooring and replaced it with slate, and we wrapped all the walls in bead board paneling.

We also added faux wood beams to the ceiling and some charming hooks for hanging hats and light jackets.

Right off the entry is the main living area and one of my favorite rooms in our home. The fireplace wall was by far one of the biggest projects!

We built shelving and a bench seat as well as a cabinet above the fireplace for our television, and we also covered all of the painted brick in stone. I just love the way it turned out!

The clean, more modern lines of the couch and oversized chairs really help to make the space feel minimal but still cozy. 🙂

The sign above the couch was a DIY project, “Francavilla” is our last name and we have three little boys. I love how the sign personalizes the space!

Our sunroom is through those French doors, and I have big plans for this space. For now, it’s home to our new (old) piano that I just painted!
The living room opens right up to our dining area, and so much of what you see in this space was thrifted or DIY.

My husband surprised me one Christmas and built the table and bench for me, and the buffet was a garage sale dresser that I painted.

The corner cabinet was a Facebook marketplace find. I gave it a fresh coat of paint and now it’s one of my favorite finds! You can read all about the makeover here.

If you haven’t noticed by now, I have a thing for combining woods and whites. Our DIY plate rack wall has become a beautiful display of all my bread and cutting boards.

Finally, the kitchen sits at the back of our home. It’s a galley style kitchen, but it works well for our family. I had leftover stone from the fireplace project, so I decided to use it on the very back wall as a feature and I love how it turned out.

Again, pops of greenery is really all you need to give your home that summer feel!

The chalkboard frame came from the old storm door that was once on our home, and I love the whimsy that it adds to this space!

And that concludes our tour! Thank you so much for coming along, and a huge thank you to Shannon for featuring our home on her blog! It was so nice to meet you all, Andrea.
