My Very Own Queen of SHEBA®
(or so she thinks)
I’ve been blogging and sharing with you for over two years now, and besides an occasional appearance on Facebook or Instagram, I don’t think I’ve ever formally introduced you to my pets? We have sibling Maine Coons. A boy and a girl.
This is Alley.
Her favorite pastimes are: sleeping, sunning herself and bathing.
Though only likes it when she’s doing the bathing. She’s not too crazy about actual baths.
She really enjoys stretching out in the sun room, especially if I am puttering around cleaning or decorating. She likes to be in the same room as I am. I would say she is definitely my cat.
She makes sure to let me know when she wants attention and loves to jump up on my desk and get between me and my keyboard. Unless she is secretly looking out for me and thinks I need to take a break? I’m pretty sure it’s all about her getting pet, but I could be wrong.
I’ve never gotten that cats are aloof. Our cats love to be with us, maybe not to the extent a dog does, but I definitely know they love us and they do seek us out for attention. Like I mentioned above, she enjoys getting between me and my work.
Often times, I’m forced to pull up a chair so she can sit right next to me, otherwise she will not settle down. Once she is happily ensconced by my side, she’ll curl up and relax. This is after copious amounts of petting, of course. Spoiled much? Yep.
Not only does she like to sit right next to me, she also likes to pull this…
I like to complain about them… about their long hair and the hairballs that come with it… but I really do love them. We’ve been through a lot with them. Alley almost died many years ago. I won’t get all technical but the vet said it was nothing she had ever seen a cat survive. I babied her like nobody’s business and slept on the couch, with her pulled right up to me on the ottoman, for several nights. You see, I had to have my arm resting on the ottoman, so she could lie on my hand. She wanted constant contact, which worked out great because her breathing was labored and I could feel her chest rise and fall that way. Are we just wrapped around their little paws or what!?
Needless to say, I want the best for them both. They are getting older and their health and diet have become more of a concern recently than ever before. If you read my Facebook page you know our male has been having some skin issues. (Again, thank you so much for all the suggestions) We treat our cats to a combination of dry food, wet food and extras like turkey, chicken and fish. I want the best for them and I’ve started reading labels. When I read the SHEBA® Paté labels and found meat as the very first ingredient, I was pleased. I’ll be reporting back more on that soon.
Alley, that little stinker thinks she only deserves the best. She can display just a pinch of a diva attitude. Double when it comes to her food. She will literally turn up her nose and pull a “You’re serving this drivel? Let me speak to the chef” a-tude on occasion. She will look at the dish, look at me… and wait. I’m not sure what for? 5-star fare I’m thinking.
A few of the things that have me hopeful SHEBA® will pass the test for us both are:
- All SHEBA® Patés are made with meat first recipes – using real beef, poultry, or seafood as the first ingredient.
- All SHEBA® recipes are formulated without grains, corn, gluten, fillers, artificial flavors or preservatives.
- SHEBA® Entrées are held to a high standard ensuring a premium meal with an irresistible taste. Your cat is guaranteed to love it, or you’ll get your money back. (I like a money back guarantee!)
Like I said, our male, Scampers (aka Bubs, Fatty Bubs, Bub-a-loo, Fatty McBubbins) has been having some issues… and he is requesting not to be included in the formal intro today. I obliged since his most current head shot looked something like this…
He is SUCH a trooper. He was a real good boy at the vet and so well behaved. He was sweet tempered and not fussy even when the poor guy was not feeling 100%. Such a love and so trusting.
They really are little heart thieves!!
Do you have pets? Are they completely spoiled or just partially?
I like to think mine are a little spoiled, but not rotten (:
All this for a cat??
Well yeah?
our cats are easy, they just like having a full food dish
They sure let us know when it’s not right?

Our one cat is kept happy with his toy mice, the other with her mom snuggle time each day. She DEMANDs it 🙂
Oh ours too. Not enough attention? They will jump right up and let you know!! 🙂
She’s beautiful!!!!! I love her markings. I so love cats – mine are so sweet & affectionate. I love how chatty they are & how much they show their love for us.
Do yours “chatter” to you? Mine are so vocal! I love it. Almost all the time. hehe
What a gorgeous girl I will have to send you a pic of our own long haired “diva”. I doubt the two would get along because… there can only be one “Queen”. 😉 I guess we need to look into this Sheba food because she is getting up there in years and, while she is already so spoiled, she’s our girl. Thanks for sharing and Alley is beautiful!
I saw it. Ditto on the pretty markings. I know, when I looked at the label of what I “thought” was good food. Shocker. It’s going really well. They are even now more spoiled, well, taken care of, then before.
She’s beautiful!
Aw, thanks Debbie. So is your baby!!
Awww, Shannon your fur babies are just gorgeous. We have a little pug and she is full blown spoiled. Do they make Sheba for dogs LOL!
They really are my babies. So glad I started looking at the labels on their food as well!! Ha. Good question 😉
