How To Make A Christmas Stocking
Today I’m sharing a gorgeous free Christmas stocking pattern, and Kimberly is walking you through the creation, with a full tutorial on How To Make A Christmas Stocking. Such a lovely keepsake, and wonderful when monogrammed for that extra personal touch.

Please Welcome Kimberly!!
Today I’ll be sharing how to make a traditional cuffed Christmas stocking.
Don’t let the photos fool you. These stockings are super simple to make and the pattern is really easy to adapt. Any heavy weight fabric will work for these stockings, but I chose red and white cotton twill fabric for these stockings because they’re a gift to my sister, and they match the PB Inspired Christmas Countdown Pillow that I made for her last week.

The fabrics for this project were purchased at JoAnne but I’ve also seen them at Hobby Lobby. They should be readily available at many fabric and craft stores.

YOU WILL NEED:
— Yardage is enough to make two stockings
-
1 yard Red and white striped cotton canvas
-
1/2 yard White cotton canvas
-
1/2 yard red cotton twill tape (or cord for hanger)
-
1 package Large red rick rack (optional)
-
1 package Red maxi piping (optional)
-
1 1/4 yard red pom-pom trim (optional)
-
Pattern at the end of this post printed and taped together
-
Scissors, pins, thread, ruler, sewing marker, and disappearing ink (find it in the sewing section)
NOTE: Ignore the large piece of red wool felt in the photo above….I thought that I was going to use it for part of the cuff but decided not to. See what I mean?! This pattern is flexible!

DIRECTIONS:

Slide the cuff up to the top of the stocking and match the raw edges of the cuff with the raw edges of the stocking. Stitch into place.

That’s all there is to it. When you’re finished making these cuffed Christmas stockings, hang them on your mantel… or, if you’re like me and you don’t have a mantel; hang them on the cabinet in your kitchen!
