Aqua Summer Bathroom Refresh
Hello friends! Today I’m all set to show you the simple bathroom refresh I just completed for Summer in partnership with Better Homes & Gardens! They recently introduced a new bath collection, it’s called “Thick and Plush”. You can find it at Walmart. There are both towels and rugs in the collection, so naturally, I bought both. I selected my towels in Aquifer, in a variety of sizes (and yes, they have bath sheets). It’s the most delicious shade of grown-up aqua! It has paired perfectly with my navy painted accent wall, for a sea-inspired Summer feel.
Unfortunately, Oregon hasn’t gotten the “Summer” memo, and we have had grey skies and rain… so, these are not the best photos I’ve ever shared. I wasn’t able to take advantage of natural light… so try to squint a little, and trust me when I say, it looks so much better in person. If we get some sunshine soon, I’ll invite y’all in for a Facebook live tour. Heck, why not right?
I basically did what I always do when I re-work a room. I stripped it down to bare, then added in different decor and accessories. These little mini-makeovers keep my rooms feeling fresh, and I often do it seasonally.
The towels were the biggest addition, because they instantly added a new energy and a coastal vibe that is especially delicious during the Summer, simply by being aqua. The color is so dreamy!! I hung a few on my vintage wood rack, and added a few to the tub section of the bathroom. My pallet wood art is the same shade, so I had to use it was well.
I was trying to use things I already had to complete the room, when I got the idea to use my maple slab as a bath tray!
I was crossing my fingers it would be the right length and it was! It couldn’t fit much better I we cut it expressly for this spot, and I love the contrast of the towel on the warm wood.
I bought these gold polka dot curtains months ago and didn’t end up using them. I’m so glad I didn’t return them. They are super fun in here. The metallic really dances and adds a bit of whimsy to the space. Even though I did have to iron them.
Pfft… it was worth it. They are like tiny little sunshines. And I need some sunshine in my life right now!
They look really great with my textured blinds.
I originally shared them with all the details [click here].
My stores finally had the tray with the trio of pots in stock, so of course I had to have it. My galvanized collection has grown since Better Homes & Gardens offers it so affordably. You know I love versatile and you can do a zillion things with this, even break it up and use the tray & pots separately.
As much as I love the Aquifer shade, I’ve got a thing for white rugs, so I’m living dangerously! I added two, to create a runner in front of the vanity, and did the larger size in front of the shower. There is just something serene and “spa like” about white rugs.
The two chunky candle sticks are holding Gardenia candles and the whole room smelled like Summer while I was taking pictures. So at least my nose felt like it was in the right season. I might have to take a paint brush to that dark mahogany and “summer” those candle sticks up though! I think they need to feel watery.
The “pump” soap dispenser is back on duty, after a short break in the linen closet, and I selected the glass apothecary jars to hold our counter top must-haves. This is a win-win because I get mine back now that there is a proper set to take their place.
You’ll really want to check them out. They are so nice! They have an expensive weight and feel. They are on the bath isle, but I can see these as decor or organizers all over the house.
This is a spot I always like to have a place to put things. Like oh, my hair clips and jewelry that I forget I’ve got on until I’m just about the step in the shower. Also great for resting the iPhone so I can listen to my music with wifi through the vent fan.
The bathroom is light and bright and super-Summery feeling now. Perfect for cool, evening showers after long days spent in the sun. Well… when the sun makes an appearance anyway.
As always, I’m including links below to all my Better Homes & Gardens items, so if you can’t get to a Walmart, or find what you are looking for at your local store, you can shop online! I do this often and it’s been a fantastic experience.

I love the aqua! Like you the white rugs say “spa day” and everyone needs one of those! Nicely done!
This wonderful colour can make even the dimmest, dingiest, most dated room smile. Love it.
I was so happy to see this shade of aqua! It hasn’t been around for a while. My daughter and I will take advantage of this one ! Thank you!
