DIY Burlap Blues Coastal Beach Wreath
I’ve got the blues today…
The Burlap Blues.
I wanted to share a little something I whipped up while I was down in Southern California on vacation.
My sister and I were feeling crafty one day and we decided to gather up some supplies and see what we could come up with! She had some clean slates (blank wreaths) so I thought I would play with those while she painted some wood tool boxes she made. We popped on the TV, visited and crafted.
You know I tend to lean towards a certain crafty style… so my wreath was, say it with me now… “Cheap & Easy”. I know… but it’s just ME.
I used some scrap fabric. Well, it became scrap fabric. lol. My sis had bags of clothes to donate and I put a few things to good use! White jeans and some pin striped jammie bottoms became my fabric flowers and bunting.
I snipped and ripped to get the frayed edges for the knotted, jute twine bunting.
I tied the twine straight to the grapevine wreath. Super casual.
The flowers are twisted, rolled and glued to a piece of fabric cut in a circle, then adhered directly onto the wreath.
Lastly, it was topped of with a big, fat, burlap bow!
I added a bit of floral/craft wire to the back to act as a hanger… and called it done.
I love the beachy, coastal vibe of the blue and white. It just felt like Summer to me as it came together. I hope you like cheap & easy too!
If so, then you are in the right place. xo Shannon
Aww … I just love it!

The wreath is just so cute! I’m with the other gals, we need to see how you made the darling flowers and bow!!
XO,
Jane

Hi Sue! Thanks for stopping in. SO glad you like it (: Welcome!!
Love it Shannon! You have inspired me.
This is just adorable, Shannon. I love the mini-bunting that you added. The wreath wouldn’t be nearly as cute without it.
So cute – love the blues and the striped fabric!!
Shannon,
This is adorable!!!! I am redoing my lake guest room and this would be so cute on the door. You should do a tutorial on how to make those cute flowers. Love those.

I love this, especially the blue and white striped fabric. It made for some beautiful rosettes and bunting! Looking forward to the dollar tree linky party!
