Haunted Halloween Decorating in the Sun Room
BOO! You guys know I love seasonal decorating, and Halloween is such a big favorite! And, even though we are doing what feels like 47 different things right now, I had to weave a little Halloween magic around the cottage. Since my apothecary cabinet is always so fun to decorate, I started in the sun room, and went with a black and orange color scheme. Such a classic!
The Haunted Mansion sign that Krumpets Home Decor gifted me was a perfect fit on the top shelf, and really set the tone for the whole cabinet. The skinny shelves on this cabinet can be tricky (no pun intended) to decorate, and I loved having something so bold for the top shelf!
Last week I went into JoAnn’s and they had these glittery bottle brush trees. They are a major decorating favorite, and I’ve got them for Christmas, and in red, white & blue too! So when I saw them in this delicious black & orange, I couldn’t resist! This is the kind of thing I consider a decorating staple, and I know I’ll be using for years to come.
I bought these super cute black & white buffalo check fabric pumpkins a few years ago from a Laura Stewart, she was selling them on her Facebook and I feel for them. They are so cute and I look forward to using them every season!
The BEWARE banner was a HomeGoods find – It’s such a fun mix of glitter & tulle.
It’s a little bit frilly, and a little bit glittery, and I like it a whole lot.
I’ve had the little raffia pumpkins for years and they are great from early Fall all the way through November! I’ve got orange and white. I’ve found them at Safeway in the floral department, and at HomeGoods & TJ Maxx. Sometimes they are on long sticks to use in floral arrangement but I just pull them off because I like to use them as accents, as vase filler… I like to pepper them around the house in general.
The black “netting” is from the Dollar Tree and I’ve had it forever! I just sets such a good Halloween tone, and is the perfect little something my shelves or mantel always seems to need.
I only splurged on a few larger sized pumpkins this season.
I love and adore that whole “pile of pumpkins” look, but the frugal side of me just can’t buy hundreds of dollars worth of pumpkins to decorate with. No matter how amazing it looks!
I split my whooping pumpkin budget between two white, and two orange Cinderellas. haha. The wee baby boos were from a local patch and were only $5 for all of them! Yay.
I’m hoping when The Little Cottage is done being painted, that I can finally get to decorate it, it’s so hard to wait!
Oh… and the Jack O Lantern pillow is from Krumpets Home Decor too, and you can use code FOXHOLLOWCOTTAGE to get save 10% on your entire order right now, site wide. They are also offering free shipping off any order $25 or more!
And here is a peek at the living room and the kind of “eclectic vintage mix” I’m decorating with in that space…
That’s it for me friends… Jimmy is out tearing into the side of the house, and I’ve got a door to paint… so I better go get some more work done and offer some moral support too.
HAPPY HALLOWEENTIME!! xo Shannon
