Hi friends. Today, I have another beautiful home tour to share with you! I hope you are enjoying getting to to take a closer look at some of the homes I’ve been featuring. It’s been a joy to get to give you an in-depth look inside these beautiful homes, and introduce you to the owners!
Today’s Modern Farmhouse Home Tour with Household No.6 is brought to you by the gracious homeowners who are allowing us inside their home.
Heather & Joe, live in Colorado with their four children. Heather is a realtor and she told me she has always loved anything to do with houses! I know so many of us feel that very same way.
She also told me, her husband is really great at tackling projects and will basically DIY anything she comes up with. (that is my kind of guy!) Didn’t he do a wonderful job on the exterior lighting? Way to go Joe!! The beam & lantern combo is so pretty!!
One of the things that really drew me to the house, was the unique railings style that they used throughout the home! I kept seeing a variety of shots on Instagram and it was so different, I was intrigued!
Heather’s got an eclectic gallery wall on the landing right at the front doors. It’s layered on white shiplap which amps up the impact. I really love the lighting they selected, I bet it looks extra fantastic at night!!
Here is a really fun shot of that unique railing! I think it keeps the feel light & open withe horizontal way it’s installed.
The kitchen is incredibly open and laid out in a great-room style. The black island really helps to anchor the space. Again, the light fixtures over the island really compliment the homes style & lines. I feel like they mimic the lines of that range hood. I’d love a closer look at that. Maybe she’ll do a full kitchen tour for us soon if we ask nicely?
Don’t you love the sophistication and drama that the black doors provide?
The mix between the barn-door & French glass pane styles keeps things interesting as well.
The wide plank style and warm wood tones of the floor are so relaxed and add a cozy feel to the home!!
As well as upon the landing, you can see the gallery wall from the kitchen and dining room. This is a close up. It’s one of the prettier gallery walls I’ve seen. While it’s visually interesting, with lots of texture, she has a great eye for balance!!
I bet that fireplace comes in handy on those chilly Colorado Winter nights!
The over mantel is so pretty with the white shiplap in that slight chevron pattern, it really draws the eye up to the vaulted ceiling feature.
You can see they used a beam as the mantel, you’ll find that repeating as I share the dining room and it’s entry.
Both the living room & dining room flow off of the kitchen.
See the beam, doesn’t that just make the room? I love the tone it sets. And I’m still crazy for chalkboards, so this one being such a focus was something I really liked! It’s perfectly spotlighted with that black farmhouse light.
I’m looking forward to following along through the upcoming season and seeing how she decorates. I sure love this vignette she’s got going for Fall.
I’ll leave you with this room… and it’s gorgeous wood wall treatment.
With those windows… and those walls, this would be a favorite space if it were my home.
Over the years they have flipped, renovated and built several homes… but Heather says this is it. This one is the families forever dream home.
I can certainly see why! It awfully beautiful and I’m so glad she let us peek inside for a tour. I hope you enjoyed it. I’ll be sharing more tours with you so we can see lots of different decorating styles. Do you have a favorite style you’d like to see next? Let me know in the comment section. xo Shannon

Wow what a beautiful home. I have never seen a farmhouse modern home but I like it. I agree that a little color would be nice but like the use of space and different design elements….it ties together nicely. Wondering where this home is located and who was the builder? Currently having a home designed so we are really looking at all possibilities. Thanks for sharing.

Wow!!!! This is beautiful!!! I’m not a huge fan of farmhouse style, but I love the modern twist to this home! It’s gorgeous!! I really love those railings too. I’m gonna have to pin those to the dream home board…. and that wall next to the pretty windows … ahhh I just love it all!
