One Minute, One Dollar, Christmas Candle Craft
This little cutie is so quick and easy to make using a Dollar Tree (or similar) candle and a few things I’m sure you’ve got at home already. This Christmas snowman candle is a quick and easy craft you can literally make in one minute, for only one dollar!
If you’ve been following me for any amount of time at all, then you’ll know that I love, Love, LOVE Cheap & Easy.
So when I ask if you’ve “got a minute”… I really mean a minute.
Do you want to build a snowman?
(are ya singing that in your head now? Thank you Frozen.)
You’re so welcome.
This is what you’ll need:
-
A Dollar Tree white pillar candle in glass. (or comparable candle)
-
A sharpie. (we’ve all got these, so I didn’t add it to the cost – I used black, you can use colors if you like!)
-
Teeny tiny scrap of fabric. (again, so minimal, I didn’t factor it in)
-
Optional: any other bits or bobs to make scarves or add more personality. I like simple, so mine got a scarf and called himself Lucky!
Before I begin, I want to disclose that I was perusing Pinterest one evening, and happened upon some real cute candles, turned into snowmen. So I didn’t come up with this idea on my own, but I was inspired! I saw the originals here and they are by Desiree from The 36th Avenue. They are darling. As is everything she does, and I’m sure you’ll love them as well!!
I of course cheated, and made mine as easy as possible.
Big shocker right?
I drew entire face and buttons on with a sharpie. First try, not perfect. Works for me!
Next I wrapped a scarf around his lil’ neck and called him Done.. or Lucky.
He ignores me no mater what I call him.
Just wait until I light him… hahahahaha.
… that’ll teach him.
If your scarf won’t stay put, use a dab of glue or a pinch of double sided tape.
With my ever present candy canes and peppermints, he adds a festive feel that is perfect for the holiday season!
These would be so cute dressed as a snowman family with different colored scarves.
… or clustered together, maybe on a mantel or shelf?
Whatever you decide, have fun with them!!
Wishing you a wonderful and joyous Christmastime.
Shannon
