Aqua Ombre Painted Furniture Makeover
Hello Foxy Friends! Meet Colette.
Oh, and Magnolia too.
The dynamic duo responsible for this pretty new chest.
Oh Maison Blanche… how I love you! What beautiful colors you have, and how wonderfully they play together, making perfect dreamy shades of Aqua.
Of course, this little chest didn’t start out this way. In the beginning, this little chest was raw wood. Like, RAW. As in, unfinished. Okay, I guess in the beginning-beginning… it was a tree.
But anyhow… it was raw. Naked if ya will.
Then it met Colette & Magnolia.
And they whispered in it’s ear that it would be a good thing if it slipped a little something on.
You know, like a light sweater, just to keep the chill off.
But they meant paint of course.
And it agreed.
And it looked oh so much better and of course, more interesting!
I helped a little.
And then, we talked it into jewelry.
Turns out, it’s a HER.
Now… I’m a good blogger (or I try to be) and I took a whole set of before pictures… with me starting at the bottom drawer, using full strength Colette, and adding a little more Magnolia to the mix for each drawer as I worked myself up to the top drawer, ending in pure Magnolia. I even took pictures of her getting Maison Blanche Antiquing Wax in Clear applied. Unfortunately, they have mysteriously disappeared into the Bermuda Triangle that is my desktop.
So… in the wise words of Yoda; “Use your imagination you must.”
And you know with all this aqua running around, I couldn’t leave my vintage Ball mason jars out of the fun! I photographed the chest on a lovely Oregon Summer day. It was positively blissful outside! Both my nephews were visiting and Austin and the boys were sitting out on the lower deck eating lunch while I snapped away. It was a great day.
It was take two actually. I finished this piece months ago, but we had such a long… wet, Spring. That the first set I took indoors were just dark and dreary and didn’t show how pretty she turned out.
I’m really happy I am finally getting to share this.
I hope you like her!!

Lovely, lovely, lovely, lovely, gorgeous, I tell ya….Miss America in wood….and no longer the neekid kind. I think she could lose her crown for that….not sure though.
I love the colors you chose and the different knobs on each drawer is a brilliant idea. I have the top knob on my hallway closet doors….now I know I have good taste….patting myself on my back for that choice!
Have a great day, Shannon.
Hugs, Mary Beth

Oh! Where were you? And yes, it was gorgeous last week. This week, so muggy! Crazy warm, and lots of clouds to hold it in. Icky combo. Glad it was lovely while you visited though (:
