You knew this was coming right?

Candy Cane Giff

I just LOVE me some candy canes at Christmastime!

Christmas Mantel - Candy Cane, Natural Greens

They are everywhere else in the house… so why not inside the Christmas ornaments too? I made these for the tree in my kitchen It’s full white lights and the sparkle is magic with the glow of the candy canes lite up.

I just love, love, love them! Austin doesn’t mind them either. {winks} He actually likes to eat them though so I fill bowls with the minis and I sprinkle them all around the house. He is in candy cane Christmas heaven let me tell you!

Make a diy Christmas Ornament - Clear Glass with Candy Cane

You will need:

  • Clear glass ornaments. Find a quality set of ten for under $10 [here] affiliate link

  • Candy canes. (regular size are fine, but minis are easiest)

  • Scissors

  • Hammer

  • Embellishments if desired

  • Glue

Here is the simple how-to:

  • In package, lightly break about 6-8 mini candy canes. The minis work great for this since they are in a pouch. You could unwrap full size cc’s, put in a bag and break as well. Either way, lightly tap with hammer. You only want to break apart, not pulverize. (trust me, it takes a lot of candy cane “dust” to fill an ornament!)

  • Remove ornament top and set aside.

  •  Add your filling to the ornament. Snip package top, pour into ornament. If you used full size cc’s, then fold a pc. of paper in have and crease. Place cc’s in the crease and use that to guide the cc’s into the ornament opening. Or, you a funnel if you’ve got one handy.

  • Pop top back on.

  • Affix a small piece of ribbon around the ornament lid/top. Glue in back at seam.

  • Add a jute twine bow.

Admire how stinking cute it is!

Dontcha love CANDY CANES? I so do!!!
