Fast and Easy 5 Minute Fruit Salad Recipe
I’ve been making this for years and years and when I whipped it up for Easter Sunday, I thought you might like this super quick and easy recipe too! So, I grabbed my camera and took some pictures so I could share it with you.
My mom gave me this recipe and I’ve been making it ever since. She’s been making since my tween years, maybe even longer than that. Anyhow. Everywhere I take it and every time I make it, it gets gobbled up. There is just something about it..
Me thinks it’s the secret sauce.
(actually, me knows it’s the secret sauce.)
It’s sweet and creamy with just the right zing.
The great thing about this? You can make it any time of the year because it’s totally a cheater style fruit salad.
You use canned fruit! (but it doesn’t taste like it.)
Hello? It’s me here. I don’t really “cook”.
If you like fast & easy too, this recipe is for you!!
Be warned though.. you’ll pretty much keep eating this until you feel sick. haha
- Orange Juice approx 2 cups – to taste and sauce thickness desired. (any style you like works, pulp or none)
- Sour Cream 16 oz.
- Jello Instant Pudding in Vanilla, 5.1 oz box
- Optional – You can use low sugar juice, non-fat sour cream and sugar free pudding. I’ve made it that way as well but since it was Easter, I went wild 😉
- Canned Peaches 2 (chunk)
- Canned Pears 2 (chunk)
- Canned Mandarin Oranges 2 (I usually add 3 though)
- Canned Pineapple (tidbits or chunk)
- 2 Fresh Bananas (not shown because I forgot to buy them)
Open all fruit and place in colander. (If you are wary of sugar, you can also rinse)
Let drain well.
While fruit is draining, combine your OJ and Pudding mix, blend till creamy.
Add OJ and Pudding mix to Sour Cream in large bowl. Mix.
(this is the delicious saucy sauce that envelopes the fruit!)
Gently fold fruit into sauce mix.
Cover and refrigerate.
*If desired, slice Bananas into the fruit salad right before serving and fold in.
I like to make mine ahead of time so the fruit can suck up all the saucy goodness. You can top with whipped cream or cool whip if you like, we never find it necessary. This has been served at everything from Birthdays, Bridal and Baby Showers to Graduations and BBQ’s – It’s always light and refreshing. Always a hit!!
From my family to yours, I hope you make and enjoy it!!!! xo Shannon
No time to make it now?
Pin it for later!
