Foreclosure Turned Farmhouse Home Tour
Hello and welcome!! I’ve got a treat for you today, please welcome Wendy from Life On The Shady Grove. I met Wendy on Instagram long ago, and was drawn to her sweet spirit… and her vintage scale collection. I adore how she blends what feels like a classic cottage style, effortlessly with vintage finds and lots of white. She has created a bright, warm, welcoming home with a comfy cottage-farmhouse vibe!
Hello there and welcome to the Shady Grove!
Where we take our front porch sittin’ seriously.
I’m so excited to show you around!
Our home was a foreclosure and we have had a blast transforming it into “our” home.
I’ve been married to my best friend for 26 years and we have 5 amazing kids, one daughter-in-love, one future daughter-in-love and 7 grand pups that stay at Grammy daycare on the Shady Grove.
I love to create and recreate, over and over again!
Welcome to our dining room.
Here I show how I’ve used fun quilts and fabrics to bring fun color into our all white home.
White is the perfect backdrop.
And makes it easy to change things around!
Moving furnishings about, and changing fabrics and finishes is a great way to alter the look and feel of your home.
Thank you so much for having me today! In sharing our home, my hope is that people will be inspired to create in their homes and that everyone who visits the Shady Grove will know that they are loved madly and extravagantly by their creator.
Y’all come back anytime!

Hi there, Shannon here again 🙂 I know I can’t wait to see Wendy’s porch for fall this year. It’s been such a pleasure to share Wendy with you today. I’ll have even more pretty home tours to share soon because I’ll be bringing over more friends for you to meet from my #foxhollowfridayfavs party. Fox Hollow Friday Favs is a weekly hashtag that I host over on Instagram. Feel free to pop over and look around, and to join in if you are on Instagram. If you aren’t on Instagram, that’s okay! I think it’s going to be the perfect way to introduce you to some folks you might not otherwise meet. Take care now, xo Shannon
Some people have gifts and yours in transformation 🙂 I love the dogs & the sign in the sitting area.
She is absolutely gifted! And I know… her doggies are the cutest!!
Every picture is so very beautiful, but I tell ‘ya, that is the cutest darn doggie photo of them sitting on the bed!
Aren’t they the cutest??? And I can hardly get my cat to look at me for a photo. LOL
This was really great! I enjoyed the whole post. So glad you shared, thanks!
Thanks for stopping in Karen! Happy Saturday.
While it is a beautiful home, but I would have enjoyed the tour a lot more if every picture didn’t have an ad pop up. I spent more time trying to click off the ads or rerouting myself back to the blog. Sorry.
Hi Laurie, there should be no ads over the photos at all? In between, yes a few, but not on. I’ll look into that at once, but it could possibly be on your end, as I’ve expressly opted out of any over image ads. I’m so sorry!! Thanks for letting me know :)))
Shannon,
What a lovely home Wendy has created with her foreclosure home!
I love the simplistic style and color palette used throughout!
I felt myself smile as Wendy wrote “moving furnishings about” ,
as I, too do the furniture shuffle here on the Prairie!
Thank you for sharing Wendy’s Shady Grove with us!
Fondly,
Pat
Yes! Me too. And why I like white so much. I can shift things from room-to-room 😉
Beautiful home dear! Love it! xox
Vesna –
It is so pretty! I agree 🙂
