YES!
It’s officially Halloween time.
Now I can share the mantel I decorated for this Halloween!
I can share pumpkins.. and ghosts.. and spooky stuff galore… and it’ll be totally normal.
Things like painted pumpkins, moody black pumpkins and glittery gold ombre pumpkins!
Along with silly tin can crafts with vintage bobbles.
You know, it’s like pulling teeth sometimes to get me to let go of my death grip on Summer and go into Fall with grace, but I will get my Halloween on well before October, no problem?
There is definitely something wrong with me.
But I don’t care!!!!
One day I was just in the mood to get my Halloween stuff out, so I did.
I wrapped some twinkle lights in the 99 cents close-out garland I nabbed after the last holiday.. spookified the mirror with some decrepit fabric.. and got my orange & black mojo working.
Sometimes decorating is so extra fun!!
The haunted mansion is dripping with glitter. So naturally I adore it!!
The iron candle sticks? Garage sale. One dollar!! (they are from Target, the stickers are still on the bottom) Score.
Perfect for my Halloweeny tins cans with battery tea lights.
The “W” in the pillow inspired my “Something Wicked This Way Comes” chalkboard wall.
I figured, I’d give it one try. If the “W” worked, cool, if not I was just going to write it one more time however it came out.
I love my chalkboard mantel wall but I don’t want it to irritate me to death trying to write perfect or super fancy.
So I make like Disney, and I let it go.
I write like me, and it’s good enough!!!!
I touched on this in the painted pumpkin post and I really mean it.
I’m liking the mirror here, it’s a little different. It came with a desk that I never got time to do anything with and gave away out on the curb in a fit of, getthisoutofmyhairrightnowitis I had over the Summer.
I gave the mirror a few fresh coats of paint, and sweep of wax and used some Command picture hanging strips to adhere it to the wall.
The classic “Black & Orange” colors this year reminds me of my childhood Halloweens.
Something about it feels so nostalgic.. and I’m loving it so very much!
Now.. there is a story that goes with the streamer filled doorway, but being the terrible blogger I am, I’ve yet to share it. Maybe later in the week? It won’t make sense if I tell it out of order. I’ll come back and adjust this when I do.
For now, you can be curious. It’ll give you something to look forward too. LOL!!!!
Oh look, more chalkboard art!
I’ve got a thing for chalkboard paint, that is one trend I was happy to embrace.
Again, I love the freedom of not trying for perfection. My best, sure. But not obsessive, erase it 15 times perfection.
It’s freeing.. and brings back the simple JOY of creating and crafting.
Just enjoying the process without the pressure I can put on myself to create something crazy awesome. I don’t want to use a stencil, an overhead projector, etc… just to make some chalk art. And that is ok. Okay for me, and maybe for you too.
Wishing you a wonderful Autumn and all the excitement the season has to offer.

I’m pumpkin-less, I have not hauled out boxes either. Slump maybe? Thankfully I’m helping my BFF in Half Moon Bay plan her Halloween party, so I at least have it on my mind even if it’s long distance.

Love, love LOVE … did I mention “love?!” Such a whimsical and awesome Halloween fireplace/mantel … my son wants to come to your house! And, if he does … please don’t ask if your “witch” pillows suddenly disappears. 🙂
