Vintage Cottage Cake Stand Decorating Ideas
Hello & welcome to a Design Ingenuity event!
What is that you say?
Well. It’s a wonderful excuse to play with my pal Debbie from Refresh Restyle (you may recall we met-up in Alabama last Spring) and show you two different takes on how you can decorate with these darling vintage-inspired cake stands!
Meet the Distressed Metal Cake Stands:
I know. Aren’t they so stinking cute!?
- First. They are white… which we all know my “can’t make a color commitment” self just adores.
- Second. They are vintage inspired and look like something your great Aunt Fanny would have tucked away and you secretly hope she leaves to you.
- Third. You get three! Yes, all 3!
- Lastly. My Grandma’s White Christmas Pie would look extra delicious presented on one! (and no, that doesn’t count as saying the C word while it’s still Summer)
You see, I got a lovely invitation to participate in this event some time back and fell for them instantly. They weren’t available at the time though and I was invited to select something else. Well, I really didn’t see anything that made my heart go pitter-patter so I declined.
When I was notified they were available again and asked if I’d like to share them with you, well… I think you can see what my answer was.
This little trio is so me.
And I think it might be “so you” too.
These were a joy to play with, and to share them with you today, I simply added some sprigs of greenery and a few tiny blooms from my yard to some glass containers. Nothing fancy. At all.
No real floral styling skills required… no crystal vases.
But sitting atop the cake stands, they look special.
You hear me say this all the time, but I really like it when my home decor is versatile.
I think these beauties fit that description!
With the “goes with everything coloring”, the perfect amount of chippy-vintage flavour… and the fact that there are three sizes in a set, I know I’ll be able to use them in so many areas of my home.
Don’t even get me started on the ruffled edges.
Before I share how you can get your own, I do need to let you know this is a sponsored post and I received product and/or compensation. But I sure hope you know by now that when I share something with you here that I authentically, enthusiastically… and in real life Love It.
If you feel like you need a set of your own, these cuties will be available on Decor Steals today starting at 10am EST but you can get in early on the steal by clicking HERE. If you even think you might want a set, I’d order as soon as possible. Stuff sells out quick as lighting. And no, I don’t make anything if you buy. But I’ve laid in bed at night thinking about something I “should have” bought enough times and I wouldn’t wish that on you.
Something I have done is to sign-up for the email alerts so I never miss the chance at getting something I fall for. Stuff goes wicked fast, so if you are going to obsess over something (I never ever do that… ) if you miss it, grab it before it’s gone.
I actually just ordered something yesterday (I shared it on my Facebook page, after I ordered mine) and I’ll share it with you when it arrives. Not sure where it’s going to go. But it was an instant attraction.
Sort of like my cake stands.
I see a long love affair in my future and I know you’ll be seeing them time & again here on the blog! I can just tell they are going to be a go-to decorating favorite!

I hope you enjoyed today’s post as much as I enjoyed being able to share it with you! It was fun getting to decorate frilly & girly with the flowers and simply play around. We’ve been so busy I have not had a chance to do it as much as I like to.
I am so, so ready to have the little cottage all to myself so I can create, style and photograph in it! I’m looking forward to stretching my styling and photography skills. And while I will of course temper that with real-life projects it’s kind of fun to just take pictures for the “pretty” factor once in awhile.
Take care now!! xo ~Shannon
