Hello Fox Hollow Cottage readers! My name is Brandi and I blog over at the home design and DIY blog Nest of Bliss!
Nest of Bliss is where I chronicle my love for creating a beautiful home on a budget with lots of do-it-yourself projects. I love to craft and I’ve got a tutorial to share with you today. Lately, I’ve been diving into Christmas crafts to get ready for the holiday season! There are so many great decorations and ornaments that you can create for next to nothing! Now that’s my kinda craft. 😉
Today I’m here to show you how to create a simple festive monogram. This project is perfect to add to a wreath, or to sit on your mantel or foyer table to greet guests as they walk in the door!
For this project you will need:
-A Wooden Letter of your choice (readily available at craft stores)
-White Craft Paint
-Red & Gold Glitter Paint
-Spanish Moss
-Faux Cranberries
-Glue Gun
-Sponge Brushes
Step 1) Paint two coats of paint onto your letter with a sponge brush on a safe work surface, allowing time to dry before each coat.
Step 2) Paint a layer of red glitter glue and allow to dry. Top it off with a layer of gold glitter paint.
Step 3) When you are happy with how your letter looks, decide where you’d like to place your Spanish moss. A small area on the top and the bottom of a letter looks great! Adhere your moss to your letter with your glue gun.
Step 4) Glue your faux cranberries in place, and you are finished!
SO easy, right?!
This letter would look great wired onto a wreath. I added mine to a burlap wreath I made to try it on for size. 🙂
