Happy Christmas Kitchen
Here we are, less than two weeks until Christmas! Are you ready? I think we are. Our home is as decorated as it’s going to get. This is the last part of the house I have to share with you, unless I do a last minute table setting or something fun like that. The mood could strike so I’m not ruling it out. I shared our Kitchen Makeover Part One earlier in the Fall, and we are poised to pick up on Part Two after the holidays, but for today, here is our happy Christmas Kitchen.
Welcome to my Happy Christmas Kitchen mini tour
I’ve linked to select items and some related posts throughout the tour, some links may be affiliate.
Our fridge ends just a bit before the wall and the cabinet boxes it in, so I’ve got this spot to play with, and it’s fun having the drying rack and my little cart here.
I didn’t have anything particular in mind when I added some holiday decor to this spot, other than I wanted to use my Santa Suit ornaments, and I wanted my Heritage Dishes from Better Homes & Gardens that I shared earlier in the month close for Christmas morning.
It’s great in real life, but the sun was just blasting in, so the photos are a little blown out. I really wanted to share the arch with my scale and my favorite little snowman sign though.
One upside of the windows being replaced with all the construction is that the two triangle windows at the peak of the vaulted ceiling with no coverings will be deleted. I’d show you a picture but I don’t want to blind you, so just trust me. They will not be missed.
I’d love to tell you I had a plan in here… but I just fiddled and things landed where they landed.
I did bring out my Peppermint Mrs Myers, it’s a holiday must-have. So yummy!! And the kind folks at Krumpets Home Decor sent me the Christmas Tree Farm sign.
I keep thinking I’m going to give my buffalo check curtains a break… but they just keep working with everything!
Jimmy made me the shallow wood dish, and I picked up the little galvanized metal houses at Walmart. I thought I was going to do a Christmas mantel with them, but when I didn’t, they ended up here!
And… I may just have to accidentally keep that pretty white ceramic Cable Knit Sweater Essential Oil Diffuser. I gave them all away last year, so… we shall see.
Who else got this super cute mug from Joann’s? They had several pieces in the line, but I just indulged in the one piece.
When you turn back from the sink area in our U-shaped kitchen, you’ll see our island and the new brick accent wall.
The island is hosting a fun little vignette full of vintage and thrifted finds, and my wood & metal lantern.
I’ve been collecting the tiny trees, and bottle brush trees for years. I’ll pick them up anywhere. I love them. They are so festive, and they make decorating so easy!
Giving the island a tiny adjustment with some paint is on my to-do list. I’ve lived with it long enough to know the white is just a touch off for me and needs to be warmed up a pinch.
Our home is very open-concept for such an old home, and I love that about it. The island is definitely what the rest of the house orbits around now and we are so happy with the change.
I only included two photos of the tree in my main holiday home tour so I snapped just a few more while I had the camera out.
My little Deer pillow looks extra sweet in the Christmas tree light glow. To think, I almost didn’t order that cutie! What was I thinking? I had enough pillows… no such thing!
I’m finally ready to wrap & bake & watch all the Christmas movies!
I did miss getting to decorate the apothecary cabinet and the sun room for Christmas this year, but with the impending construction threatening to begin and any time, I knew I had to refrain. I wasn’t sure when the project would start, but I just got word they are starting Wednesday, because the windows are in. I pray they are no big surprises!
Happy Christmastime to all ~ xo Shannon

Love the drying rack, but how did you attach it to your refrigerator?
Our fridge is boxed in, there is a slim panel on that side, it’s attached to that ☺️
Your kitchen looks so lovely Shannon. I love that you just winged it, listened to your heart and it has all come together so beautifully. The buffalo check curtains work so well… they truly are an accessory for every season. With the decorating done, you can now really enjoy the remaining days of the season.
Happy baking, wrapping and movie watching my friend x
